I sadly, never got to ride The Bat but I sure would have liked to try it out. I know some people that have rode it and they said it was Very fun and the cars were swinging so much that Flight Deck can't compare.

Possible Ride Station Location?
TheBEASTunchained replied to DBInternational's topic in Coming Attractions
That makes a lot of sense DBI. I've seen that empty space but never really thought about Kings Island using it for a coaster station, I just thought it was going to be extra storage space. Great Idea -
Disaster Transport Memories
TheBEASTunchained replied to TheBEASTunchained's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
That could start to be the new unwanted coaster/ride amusement park. Every ride that any Cedar Fair wants to get rid of, they can just send to Michigan's Adventure to operate. Lets just send Disaster Transport to Michigan's Adventure, along with Son of Beast, Space Spiral, and all of the Dinosaurs from the Dinosaurs Alive exhibits. They could have sent the Crypt there too. -
As the Kings Island Halloween Haunt months approach, I thought it would be an appropriate time to seek new and different ideas for the coming years. If You could make/design your own attraction for Halloween Haunt at KI what would it be? What type of effects would it have? Where would its location be in the park? and Do you think your idea could help Kings Island with future HAUNT ideas?

Even if its just a cube of wood, I would like to purchase a peice of Son of Beast. Another thing that I would like to buy is the Son of Beast entrance crate, Or at least the sign with the name that was inside it. I would Love to have that crate more than anything else at Kings Island.

Sure dropping objects is forbidden. I said couldn't taking pictures and video from the top of the Eiffel Tower also be dangerous? I've seen people up there stick their phones and cameras through the bars to get a clear shot. What if they dropped them? I'd be far more worried about falling cameras from the Eiffel Tower than I would be floating cameras in the log flume. I'm not quite sure how I could hurt someone filming or taking a picture from inside a log. Following the rules is always good BUT when its a situation like yours Voicetek, I do not see a problem because if they cared about you taking that short video, they wouldn't have let you take it. They have cameras and can see if you are filming which means that if they cared they would have saw you and told you to stop filming through the speakers going up the lift hill. Anyway, It seems like you had some fun.

What kind of coaster should replace Son of Beast?

I guess that person doesn't appreciate The Beast for what it actually is, A monster of a ride, and one of the Best wooden roller coasters ever built. Its age hasn't effected it because Kings Island has replaced sections of track and fixed places in the track so that age wouldn't effect the ride expirience. Last year in 2011 The Beast was getting a little bit rough but Kings Island did some off season track work and this year its as smooth as ever. I plan on being at Kings Island for The Beast's 50th birthday. I think that The Beast will be operating for a long time to come and its no where near old yet. -
I think that The Crypt had a great last year in 2011 and a very fun last ride in my opinion. It was also a very different experience as Tomb Raider The Ride.

I'd like to know what type of HAUNT attraction that there putting inside the old Crypt building.

What kind of coaster should replace Son of Beast?

I agree VERY much with that. Whether Son of Beast is operating or not, It is still a HUGE part of the Kings Island skyline and without it, The skyline's look will almost completely change on that side of the park. When you lose that much from the view as your driving to Kings Island, You need something new to change the skyline. A new ride that is tall would be great like you said, but what would of course be better is a tall new wooden roller coaster. Remember what that area of the park looked like without Lion Country Safari? Probably not an eyesore, thus making it better. I don't really think Son of Beast is an eyesore. I think it is a very cool looking structure that lost its purpose over 3 years ago. -

Cheap material and labor was "said" to be one of the reasons for SOB's structural defects and damages. -

If Kings Island Ever builds another 200ft+ wooden coaster, I'm sure that they would probably hire a company like the Gravity Group instead of building it themselves -
I didn't really know to believe him or not because there was a lot of different rumors about Son of Beast going around but I guess he was telling the truth.
-
I just meant if it part of it was standing in 2013. Nobody knows how long or how short of a time period it will take to remove Son of Beast except park management.

I'm still sticking with my opinion that If Kings Island adds a new roller coaster it should be a new woodie. The last new wooden roller coaster that Kings Island built was Son of Beast in 2000 which was over 10 years ago, Which is not a lot of wood compared to the amount of steel coasters built at KI in the last 10 years. I like wooden roller coasters and would like to see Kings Island make a wooden coaster that can be a #1 ranked woodie with an Incredible reputation. Kings Island has been known for there wooden roller coasters and with Son of Beast they weren't known in a good way. They could easily make themselves a top wooden coaster theme park destination and spoil there SOB of a reputation (about wooden coasters) by adding a Great wooden coaster. Thats my opinion and I know whatever roller coaster that Kings Island adds next, wooden or not its most likely going to be a good one if history is any indication. -
I hope the removal doesn't disrupt business as usual for Flight Deck or Adventure Express. If the coaster isn't completely demolished before the start of the 2013 season, I could see it being an interuption towards Flight Deck/Adventure Express operation, But that would depend on when they take down the parts of the ride that come close to FD/AE.
