For me being the oldest in our family, you'd think I'd want spend my Friday at a high school football game but unfortunately, my team was away at Fairfield so I went to parky's farm with my family. Parky's Farm has been my favorite place to go ever since I was a kid so I didn't really mind going. The weather was pretty decent with no wind or rain which signaled for a great night. We arrived at the farm and I realized that they jacked up the prices from $5 to $6 but it didn't really make much difference. It was still pretty light when we entered the farm but that didn't damper the Halloween festivities. They had a petting zoo where you could ride ponies and hand feed goats, sheep, alpacas and donkeys for $1. Then we went to this pretty sweet major mirror on the wall that talked to us, (obviously with a guy on the other side of the wall), and gave us candy as well as this fortune teller. After that, it was off for an old-fashioned style hayride in an antique tractor. We traveled into the lighted forest filled with inflatable monsters, lights, fake houses, etc. The ride took a while but it was pretty entertaining seeing all the lights and all the effort that the Hamilton County Park District put into stringing the lights. After that we went into the "creepy critters" barn with various farm animals. Then we walked into the fun house and called it a night. There was one change, however, to the farm. The theater used to occupy a magical magician that was by far my favorite thing there when I was a kid but instead, they played old Casper episodes which kinda bummed me out. All in all it was a great night! Please visit one night if you haven't gone yet because it is a must do family attraction!
