The Crypt is gone and i hear that it is going to be turned into a HAUNT attraction. Do you think they will keep it that way?

I have been to Kings Island for many years but when I was tall enough to ride the thrill rides, I was scared to death. Now I have grown up a lot and have enjoyed all the thrills Kings Island has to offer. But a couple of my friends hate to ride rides. So my question is: can people still have fun without riding anything?

Good bye Ki Central thatks for all your nice comments

Well Cedar Fair Entertainment Company is named after Cedar Point isn't it because the only reason the place is called Cedar Point is because of all the Cedar trees it once had.

Sorry, I'm just annoyed about all the rumors I hear about SOB. Personally I just want it to be gone for good.

Okay this will take a while to read. People think that Kings Island is going to get a new coaster that's 300 something feet and its going to be one of the best roller coasters in the world. But here's the thing, Kings Island is owned by Cedar Point. As any regular coaster enthusiast would know, Cedar Point owns most amusement parks in the US besides Six Flags and Busch Gardens. Cedar Point is known for its world class rides and their high, world record breaking coasters. Cedar Point will never make a Coaster that's bigger than one of their famous ones. For example: Look at Millennium Force, it broke several world records back in the 2000's and if they put a roller coaster that's taller than that at one of their other amusement parks, they'll lose many things. First is publicity because if people realize that their is a bigger coaster than Millennium Force or Top Thrill, than they will go to that park and there will be less guests at Cedar Point. Second, they have tons of world records and they don't want one of their parks being better than them. Think of Cedar Fair Entertainment Company as a gang. You've got your big tough guy(Cedar Point) who is the big dog and nothing goes past him. Now if his henchmen(the other parks Cedar Fair owns) tries to do something worst (aka build a bigger coaster) than the leader than they have a problem but the leader will let his henchmen to little things. As an example look at Canada's Wonderland: They rust build a whopping 306 ft hyper coaster. Does anyone relize that all of the coasters that ceadr fair creates at their other parks are so slightly shorter than their own? Or what about Intimidator 305 at Kings Dominion that's 300ft tall? I've been thinking of this deeply and it annoys me when I hear people say, "Oh, Kings Island is gonna tear don Son of Beast and build a new ride that's 300 something feet." If they do build a new coaster, its gonna be just under 310 feet. I'd like to hear what you guys have to say to this.

I think they want tourists to see different parts of the water park to bring more of them in or something.

Vortex is sinking. Racer is going to get demolished. King Cobra still lies in Flight of Fear. Kings Island is Cedar Fair's "Guinea Pig Park". There is a Red steam train. Someone died on The Bat.

They should sell the parts or something. They'd make a ton of money even though its just a piece of wood.
-
Like what I said: Too much to repair and too much to take down. So Lets SOB on Fire!!! And build a coaster that's higher!!! For KI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
What do you think will happen to Son of Beast. My uncle works for the city of Mason and inspects where the supports of each new ride to make sure its safe. He said that it would cost too much to fix it and too much to take it down. I honestly think that Kings Island is hoping for a good fire.
-
Yeah. I would sleep along the railroad line but I'm unsure now because its apperantly haunted.
-
If you could stay the night at Kings Island, where would you set up camp?
-
Has any one else noticed that the Son of Beast logo has two loops? I don't think they will tear down Son of Beast because it holds too many world records.
-
Do you think Kings Island should have a lock in? It would raise a ton of money but they'd have to close down the park the day after to clean up.
-
What do you think is going to be the biggest change that Kings Island will face?
-
It looks like they realized that they forgot the loop ion Invertigo on the 2011 map
-
In your opinion, do you think Kings Island would be better off without Cedar Point as their owner?

Kings Island: Cedar Fair's test park
SonofBaconator replied to Diamondbacker's topic in Kings Island
I think that Cedar Point just takes away the glory of Kings Island and uses it to their own benefit. -
I went to Tampa, FL for vacation and we spent one day at Busch Gardens Africa. Even though the park is African themed, I still felt a whole different atmosphere that I didn't feel at Kings Island despite the fact that there was different attractions offered in the park that Kings Island didn't. So my question is:What sets Kings Island different from other parks?

Racer being torn down. That's what one of my friends said about Racer is going to get torn down. I don't think they will because of various reasons. It was one of the first rides in the park. It was the first twin coaster. The length of it is about the length of the front gate to Vortex so Kings Island would have to make a coaster that would fit tightly in the space racer now sits. plus it divides some sections of the park and it would just look tacky without it.
