  1. Do we know that for sure yet? I mean like have seen any development back there. Yes they have, there is an area by the flightdeck turnaround that is being developed and by Adventure Express
  2. I can see what your saying but that could easily be something else, Maverick has duel supports for the break run. I think it could easily be something other than that, but then again it could very well be an invert. A fan, possibly in denial. But those duel supports look to wide for a sitdown.
  3. Im still trying to figure out what "element is going next to the flight deck turnaround into the valley
  4. and finally get rid of the KC footers
  5. Thats a lot of progress that has been made! One thing i keep telling myself is that the supports arent as close together. The distance apart from them has enough room for a track piece. The layout however, I still dont quite see. The only layout Im seeing is the station being behind Delirium and the supposed lift heading towards Adventure Express
  6. those only support one. The ones at the construction site supports multiple!
  7. Are you telling us Diamondback wasnt well thought out?
  8. Then should we be on the look out in July
  9. "Ride Sally Ride" "Run for the Hills" "Steep Incline ahead" "Slippery when wet" These all were teasers for Diamondback that i can remember in 2008 "Evil Phenomenon" "Bone Chilling Screams" Cedar Fair Trademarks the name 'Banshee' Triangular footers/Parallel Rectangular footers (Invert)?? No Camping Mr. O comments about KI 2014 Clues so far for Project 2014. Just trying to figure this project out because there are not a lot of signs like for DB. Yes i know a lot of you are probably saying just wait till August, but this is some exciting stuff!
  10. To me the LaRosa's in the park is not that great. I prefer the ones outside the park.
  11. I watched a video on Youtube where Coaster Radio interviewed Matt Ouimet at the GK media day. He had said that there were no plans on changing the front entrance of KI because "it is pretty darn good", but there are other areas within the park they could work with. (my guess is a new midway). Just throwing that out there
  12. Can anyone get a photo from te top of the eiffel to show this "furious" work?
  13. Does anyone else notice that this photo is really old, like from early may, more footers have been placed
  14. I agree that what we are seeing construction for is only one piece of the puzzle. There is so much more that they could do with the space that Son of Beast used. I know its only early into the construction process, but i dont see this coaster going all the way to the rosebowl. I see it going towards the Flight Deck turn around. So, just maybe, this coaster is part of a two year construction for a new area, like in Action Zone: added Drop Zone and Invertigo (1999) and Son of Beast the following year.
  15. Just to hit on this point real quick- I visited Cedar Point last Sunday (6/2)- it was the slowest day I've seen at the park. Several coasters were down early on (due to high winds?)- including Gatekeeper, TTD, Raptor. Once Gatekeeper opened (around 10-11am), the line quickly filled out to the plaza (but not all queues were open). We waited in line for about an hour before riding. Later on in the day, 4-5pm, the line was 10-15 minutes long.Gatekeeper is brillant- its FUN, but not necessarily thrilling. There are quite a bit of forces, but the ride is smooth and has a GREAT view. Its kind of hard to explain...definitely not one to miss while at the park. Does KI want to become a more thrilling Park or a more Family Oriented Park? Here is a timeline from Paramount to Cedar Fair from 1999 to Now:1999- Drop Zone/Face Off (Now Drop Tower and Invertigo) (Paramount) 2000- Son of Beast (Paramount) 2002- Tomb Raider/The Crypt (Paramount) 2003- Delirium (Paramount) 2005- Intalian Job Stunt Track (Paramount) 2007- Firehawk (Paramount/Cedar Fair) 2009- Diamondback (Cedar Fair) 2010- Planet Snoopy (Cedar Fair) 2011- WindSeeker (Cedar Fair) 2012- Soak City (Cedar Fair) 2013- New Food Options/ Big Dinosaur 2014-??? My point is that in the Cedar Fair Era, there has only really been one Thrilling ride and that is Diamondback. So if they can make a strong, forceful move to get a coaster that can be the next BIG thing, it would mean great revenue for the park. Adding a new coaster can boost ticket sales, season pass sales, and spike seasonal attending. Firehawk, which was most definitely not a Paramount installation, is not thrilling? I never said it was
  16. ok thanks i was just saying maybe things can change

  18. How the heck is Diamondback rough...IN ANY SEAT?!
  19. Love the idea for the food truck
  20. But i said NOT trying to outshine in height in speed, rather have another coaster that delivers a different presence. Both Leviathan and Behemoth are giants. Maybe KI wants something giant but not as tall as DB and delivers a different feel
  21. When you think about it. Diamondback was/is a huge hit and is the #1 or #2 coaster in the park (The Beast I might add). Maybe Kings Island doesnt want to outshine DB with height and speed, but to have another coaster in the park that can put KI on the map of a must visit destination. Also 2014 would mean the last new coaster we got came 5 years ago, and DB will be 6 years old (I cant believe how time goes by). 5 years without a new coaster gives a lot of time to think about what type of ride you want, where you want it, the theme (if there is one) and many other options. So technically, this coaster could be 5 years in the making.
  22. I agree. Some inverts give me vertigo like Raptor. But when it comes to big name Amusement Parks, Kings Island is the only park that doesnt have a full circuit invert. Look at Carowinds, Dorney, KD, Cedar Point, CW, Knotts, and even Worlds of Fun; they all have a full circuit invert. Kings Island being one of the top three parks in the chain and not having a B&M Invert is pretty silly to me.I wouldn't mind an invert so that KI can stay "competitive"( I like that term), but I also love how its diverse collection of rides makes it different from the other parks even through there are some cloned rides. spot on! A nice new, unique layout maybe? Not maybe but hopefully
