  1. I personally love Halloweekends at Kings Island. I'm planning to go to CP's in September to try it out. KI seems to just have a more fall feeling than CP. Anyway, I suggest Fast Lane for the rides if at all possible, but not for the haunted attractions. They move pretty fast. Good idea to go to CP in September. It is my favorite time of year to go, Labor Day is the best. But do not ever plan a trip to CP on a Saturday in October, such a waste of a day. Halloweekends the past few years did not impress me that much.
  2. Too be honest I will be ****ed if this ride is an Invert. Nothing compares to rides like Millennium or Maverick
  3. You have to look at trends that CF does with the parks. CF has the money to build massive rides, and these rides need to go to the top parks that they own. A B&M Invert would make since for a park like Michigan's Adventure (Go Bucks!) or just a park that is struggling in general. Kings Island is an awesome park and I enjoy visiting KI more than CP so I want KI to build something massive! Whatever it is I will go on it. But lets be real here, why in the heck would we want an invert to be put in this massive land mass!?
  4. I want to go for the Halloween stuff mainly, but also to ride the rides as well. Sundays will be pointless since most of the Halloween attractions will be closed since its only open till 7. To be honest the rides I will go on now after my last visit to KI last thursday is Diamondback, Beast, Racer, Flight of Fear, Invertigo (once) and Firehawk (once). Vortex and the other rides I gave up on. My headache has not gone away since.
  5. Idk why CF would want to invest a new B&M Invert for Kings Island or Floor-less for that matter. The last popular Invert I can think of is Patriot which was 2006. Both of these types of rides are older productions, inverts were popular in the 90's and floor-less in the late 90's early 2000's. I just do not believe at all that this will be an Invert or Floor-less. I think it is going to be a new product from B&M such as a Leviathan clone, or maybe something else we have not seen yet. I would say that this is just 1/4 of the rides actual coverage of land so far of whats under construction. By the time the ride is announced this thing will cover SOB full landscape. B&M Giga or maybe a B&M Blitz coaster? It is going to be a ride that puts Kings Island back to the top of being considered a major coaster park. And sorry to say this to all you people who an invert, but an Invert will not do this to the park.
  6. Ahhh I forgot about the Fast Lane passes. You have to pay extra for the Diamondback and Beast pass correct?
  7. Thanks for the input everyone. Sounds to me like Friday is the best day to go, which I figured it would be. I went to KI with my girlfriend last Thursday and it was an awesome day minus the 100 degree heat. The rides were walk on's expect for Soak City lol. But anyways, we wanted to visit the park for Halloween and change it up instead of going to Cedar Point's. I figured everyone's opinions would be to stay away from Saturday's since CP is just as bad with over 2 hour waits for rides like the Corkscrew...yeah right, not worth it. Also, has anyone been to both CP and KI Halloween events? How do they compare?
  8. Hey everyone, I am planning a trip to Kings Island this October on a Saturday. I have never been to KI for the Halloween events, only at CP. I hope that Kings Island is not as busy on a Saturday like how CP is during Halloweekends. Can anyone give me some tips at all for visiting the park during this time of the year? Not sure which weekend I am going, any input would be helpful!!!
  9. Capacity. The line takes forever. Millennium can speed up quickly.
  10. Firehawk is just uncomfortable. The restraints put too much pressure on my chest.
  11. TTD first before Millennium
  12. Agree. I go to CP at least 20 times a year, so for someone who only goes once in awhile then spending the extra money on Fast Lane is worth it. I have never purchased one before, but when I am in line for Maverick for an hour and I see people walk up those steps ahead of me then I get irritated lol.
  13. Get on Maverick, Raptor, or Millennium as early as possible. Maverick would be first in my opinion considering that it has the longest wait of any ride in the park. Gatekeeper has a quick line even if the sign says 1 hour wait its more like a 20 minute wait. Now for Top Thrill, make sure you get a good look at where the line is. If you can see where the line ends from the launch side then do not get in! Go on Iron Dragon and you can get a better look of where the line is. Have fun tho!
  14. If Kings Island ends up getting a B&M Invert next year, then I am convinced Vortex will go in the next few years.
  15. After riding Vortex last Thursday, it was terrible. The ride has become so uncomfortable and my head was spinning for hours. In the past it wasn't that bad, but now I think it is time to retire Vortex and put in something different. Oh and Firehawk too...the restraints are bad.
  16. I was referring to Arrow loopers that date back to when they began having inversions which was Corkscrew in '76 being the first one. The ones before that will stick around because the maintenance is not as expensive.
  17. The shelf life on the Arrow coasters minus the Hyper ones are no more than 30 years. Anaconda was built after Vortex so its a matter of time before one of them gets taken down. Rumors are going around saying CP is taking out Corkscrew soon to make way for something new. I feel as if CF is beginning to clean up the rides and start looking at future replacements. The only rides KI will keep around for years to come is Racer, The Beast, Diamondback, and maybe Flight of Fear. All the Vekoma rides will go away soon especially Face/ Off
  18. Personally, I absolutely LOVE Afterburn at Carowinds, and could ride that ride all day long. If Kings Island does end up getting an inverted coaster, then I will be happy. It would likely have inversions, and Kings Island`s last coaster with inversions was Invertigo, which offers your standard boomerang inversion package. Not to mention, if it does end up being a B&M invert, it would be another B&M ride that is a capacity machine, with limited down time. That being said, we have no guarantee what type of ride it is going to be yet, let alone the manufacturer or name. Some people will not be happy, no matter what type of ride Kings Island installs. As The Interpreter has said, just be happy that Kings Island appears to be getting a new ride. When was the last new ride installed at Dorney Park? Or Michigan`s Adventure? Well Michigan's Adventure and Dorney Park are CF lowest attendance parks so that would explain why they do not get new rides. Cedar Point and Kings Island are the top 2 parks they have.
  19. If this ride ends up being an Invert then we will start seeing Top Gun and Vortex come down in the next 5 years. But then again if they are going to use all of the SOB layout area then an Invert does not fit the picture at all.
  20. Banshee would most likely be the name. I just hope that the ride is not a B&M Invert like everyone is saying. Inverts were popular back in the 90's, I would much rather see something along the lines of a Leviathan or Maverick style coaster.
