  1. Really looking forward to our new Pennywise the Clown coaster.
  2. The roads seem to be getting bumpier and bumpier everyday.
  3. Yeah makes sense now, like Diamondback and Vortex and FoF Precisely, you are correct.
  4. It stands for Mid-Course Brake Run. It is simply a stretch of brakes typically in the middle of a ride's course that sometimes is used to warrant 3 train operation. Edit: davidw beat me to it. Gotta be quick.
  5. Wow, that's all I have to say.
  6. One of the worst ride experiences I've EVER had.
  7. Alrighty, thanks for the tips guys! REALLY looking forward to my trip now.
  8. Hello all! I know there are similar topics concerning August trip tips, but I wanted to ask a more specific question. I go to Kings Island quite a bit, but for some strange reason I've never been able to make a trip in Mid August. Most of my trips are during May, June, July or October. August is usually a hectic month for me, but I managed to squeeze a trip in this year. Anyway, I was wondering how crowded the park would be on this day. My assumption is that it won't be too bad because the park only stays open until 8:00 P.M. I would assume this means the park isn't expecting a large crowd. I, however, don't have first hand experience with this part of the season so please enlighten me. Your advice is much appreciated!
  9. Yes. At least three other people somewhere. I see that now. My apologies for overlooking that.
  10. Anyone else notice that The Racer cam is now facing the 2014 construction zone? Hmmm... Interesting.
  11. Vortex provides some great forces when it travels through the two consecutive loops and during the batwing. As has been stated, Magnum has some of the best air around. Arrow's rides are anything but forceless. I personally love B&M, Intamin and Arrow Dynamics all the same. Each of them brings something unique to the table.
  12. I live in Louisville and I really hope this park is able to thrive following its reopening. It was so sad to watch my home park tumble downward when it was under Six Flags management. Unfortunately, the park was at a huge disadvantage from the start. It has very little room for growth or expansion due to its urban location. Nonetheless, I'm hopeful Ed Hart will be able to make the best of the situation and introduce new world class rides that will draw many to the park. Kings Island will always be my favorite park because it was where my interest with the industry began, but KK is part of my hometown and I want it to do nothing but succeed.
  13. If it were financially possible, which it isn't, I would move Diamondback deeper into the woods. I love the ride to death, but it has ruined the secluded woodsy feel of Rivertown. I think the overall ride experience would be improved as well.
  14. This is just getting really weird now...
  15. My morning has consisted of constantly hitting the refresh button. I just might go insane if this turns out to be nothing.
  16. I really hope Don isn't play head games with us. I just want to know what is going on already.
  17. Tuesday is either going to be a VERY exciting day for this project or a HUGE let down. Time will tell... Track onsite would really shake things up a bit.
  18. There are about 10 different things being discussed on this thread at once, lol! Its quite entertaining. So much excitement with very few answers.
  19. He is reading these forums at this very moment as a matter of fact...
  20. I rode Vortex two times on Friday. I rode in the very front once and then 2-1 the second time. It really isn't that bad, and I still find the ride quite enjoyable. It isn't butter smooth, but its great for a 26 year old roller coaster. The inversions have some excellent g-forces and I love the small amount of hang time you get in the corkscrew element. If you're looking for the best ride, the front of the train is absolutely the way to go as with most Arrow loopers. I do, however, enjoy the nice pop of airtime you get in the back on the first drop.
  21. No, KI1997 - I just get tired of hypocrisy. If you knew me, you'd know I'm anything but a drama queen. I'm not full of hatred or rage. But I am human, and sometimes need to vent to get things off my chest. http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?/topic/27674-bb1s-goodbye/?p=526684 As for why my name is still showing up at the bottom of the page, it's because I have other threads I follow here and I wanted to catch up on them before logging off. Something else...you can't delete your account from KIC. I thought you were done with this page?
  22. What perplexes me is when these individuals claim they are leaving for good but continue to stay online directly after their claim. It seems that someone who is so full of rage and hatred toward people on this thread like they say they are would immediately delete their account and never be heard from again. This, however, is not the case. The individual stays online and continues to visit the site. My opinion is that they feed off drama and want to listen to the backlash after they throw their tantrum. A perfect example of a class A drama queen.
  23. I have a solo trip planned for this Wednesday. It will be my 6th trip alone. I think going alone and going with a friend both have their advantages and disadvantages. It seems that every time I take someone they are worn out by 1:00. I, on the other hand, can go all day by myself. It is always nice to have someone to talk to when you get lonely, because I am dreadfully awful at striking up random conversations with people I don't know well. Another downside of bringing someone is that they usually aren't an avid rider like me. I like to marathon some rides and most people just don't seem up to that. The bottom line is that going alone is fun and you will get a lot of what you personally want to do done. I hope you have a good trip!
  24. Anyone claiming they absolutely know without a doubt this is going to be designed by Intamin should really check their logic. That is a very bold claim. Making a prediction you believe to be completely accurate at this stage in the project's life is not unlike saying you know without a doubt who will be elected President in 2016. The truth is that no one knows except for a select few. Please accept that and move on. We are really beating a dead horse here.
  25. This isn't an embarrassing story concerning me, but its pretty good. Last year in August, I was sitting in Diamondback's station awaiting dispatch. There were two teenage girls sitting in front of me and two twenty year old guys sitting in front of them. The two guys decided to play mind games with the teenage girls. One of them turned to the other and claimed that a man recently fell off Diamondback's lift hill and landed in the Splashdown. The two girls took the bait and immediately jumped in. The pure look of terror on their faces was priceless. One of them leaned forward and exclaimed, "Really??" The guy played into her fear by saying, "Yeah, it was a big mess. There was blood everywhere." At this point the ride began to leave the station. The girls were absolutely mortified. I guess the guys felt sorry for them, because they turned around during the ascent and told them they were just joking. Both of the girls were silent. I couldn't see their facial expressions, but I'm sure they looked extremely embarrassed. I felt sorry for them, but I was also amused at how naïve they were in that particular situation.
