Defunct or not, it was still an extremely historic coaster. Historic for all the wrong reasons. KI is wise to distance themselves from any SoB association with the new ride. This is why it will most likely be from B&M who has a great track record of uptime & safety as opposed to Intamin. Imagine if KI did go with Intamin & the ride had to be "modified" a la: WT, Maverick or I-305 or have considerable downtime a la: TTD, KK, or WT? Park goers will immediately mention SoB in the confusion. Yes. Worlds tallest, fastest, and only looping wooden coaster is all the wrong reasons...you make no sence

Really? Sure let's tie in this nice new coaster with a defunct coaster that was problematic from the start, severely injured people, and was in the news for all the wrong reasons. Lets not waste that potential. Defunct or not, it was still an extremely historic coaster.

Employees know as much as we do. Actually we probably know more than half the employees. Id be surprised if all of them follow this stuff like enthusiasts do.

What i am having trouble understanding is why would this particular coaster cost so much? Lets just say it is an invert. Why so much more of a price tag than other inverts around the world?Theme, could be new type of invert that costs a lot, steel price has gone upDiamondback was the park's biggest investment and S.O.B. was the second so it would also have to be the things surrounding it. Also, could it have just been that the demolition of S.O.B. was considered part of the coaster's cost? Possibly but I wouldnt think that would be in the official count of price for this new coaster. Seems like it wouldnt be accurate in relation to construction of other coasters

I did see that, but if you look in the Origin section, it explains that the sound was like that of a screech of a Barn Owl. Oh man! i didnt see that! Nice catch! Yeah, the second I read that I connected that together. So I think we can all agree that Banshee is looking like the name no matter what at this point. Too many signs point to it. I hope and am pretty sure it will be called Banshee. I just hope its just not all a huge diversion. I like Banshee

It could be very long. We don't know for sure 100%. Of course, the cost of steel goes up every year. Plus anything else that we have not yet decoded. Yeah i never thought about the price of steel. I dont care what the footers look like or what codes were on the tags, in my opinion, no one will know till announcement. I think the price tag will come from something that blows all of our minds and is something we didnt see coming.

I think itd be cool to have a flailing wild Banshee crying for the fallen Son of Beast. Thank you for the lesson there, I honestly had no idea. I think Banshee and think of monsters for some reason. I agree that idea would be really cool. I think a highly themes queue in general would be neat. I love the idea of getting the "theme" back to KI. Wikipedia among other sites has some really interesting information on the word or creature or whatever ya wanna call it! While reading on wikipedia, I found out now why the Owl is involved. Not everyday does a park get to create a ride with such a history already behind the land it will sit on. Kings Island, in my opinion, should capitalize on this rare opportunity to create something legendary. I for one, always loved the three in the family. The Beastie, The Beast, and Son of Beast. Its so unique. Now that The Beastie is no more and Son of Beast is gone, The Beast is doing fine carrying on the family name, and will forever. But why let the "ghost of Son of Beast" die and just be forgotten about? Kings Island has potential to do something awesome with theaming that actually ties in rollercaoster history behind it. I hope the potential is not wasted.

I dig the video... I only wish it was actually that dark in that area.... You could add strange noises and really create a neat theme behind the ride.... It has been said before

This kind of got skipped over because it was posted right before the blueprints were, but these were handed out at the park today when you went through the parking gate. I have one sitting on the floor right beside me And between this and the piles of rocks/iron fence that popped up today, it points to a graveyard, in my opinion. Does anyone else notice the diagonal stripes used in this piece as well as the teaser signs that was used on the sides of the SOB trains? Also notice the yellow color and eyes both similar to Son of Beast. Not saying this means anything but it makes ya wonder

And where is your source for this? Isn't it usually independent sites that will stream it? And if not that, people will likely be live blogging it. Also, all the renderings, info, and any videos released will be online within minutes. Lastly, I'm sure people will record the announcement and later post it on YouTube. So, if it's hard for you to get to the park, there's no reason to worry. Kings Island tweeted there were no plans to broadcast it live. What day did they tweet that? I cant find it

I was reading about Banshees on Wikipedia and it stated that "The Banshee may also appear in a variety of other forms..." I wonder if this could explain the Owls...
