It looks like a section of the track is missing. -
Something is up with the infamous Action Zone Circle
LongTimeLurker replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
The semi-circle with the Banshee sign will be, from the webcam view, right behind the dive loop. -
Nice find. You can definitely see more of Action Zone. And it has a 1-hour time lapse.

Couple of new pictures of the station up on Instagram. Looks like the freestanding wall is to hide some kind of electric box. Pictures can be found here: http://instagram.com/kingsislandpr

I think the small window you're talking about will be there. If you look at the picture posted on Twitter on 01/31 it shows the window from the outside. And in one of the pictures Don recently sent over, although it appears bigger, you can see the framed opening from the inside. But the thing I like most about the station is the woodwork. Can't wait to see it in person.

Last time I checked the webcam it appeared that they have begun working on the Banshee sign near the entrance. It looks like the stone work is up and you can make out the half circle. But then again, knowing the area in which it is going and what it should look like, it could be my mind playing tricks on me.

While looking for my Monday morning fix I found a picture of one of the cars being hoisted into place on Kings Island's Instagram. Since I'm having problems downloading it, I'll just post the link. kingsislandpr "A vehicle for a Banshee train is being lifted for placement on the track." http://instagram.com/p/kYMXf5uOK6/

^ I'm thinking he meant ripping up the asphalt in preparation for laying pavers.

An update from Russell Flatt would be nice right about now.

I've wondered this myself. I think they are used to pump heat to the columns to get the grout to dry. Keyword here is "think"

The first train will be delivered next week.

Opening day 2009 I saw Diamondback's line almost wrapped around itself. When the park opened the end of the line was where the Reds Hall of Fame Grille is and heading towards The Beast. I got in line when it got down to Chick-fil-A and waited about 2 hours I think. I'm guessing the line will be long all day. With it being on a Friday you'll have the people that are off work there when they open, then once the line begins to get shorter, the people that had to work will show up. Then the people who were there when the park opened will be back in line for the night ride coupled with the off work crowd and it will be the longest it has been all day. Did you get all that? Yes, it will be a mess.

My 6 year old son finally hit the magical 48" mark this past season. My most memorable moment was an ERT on The Beast late in the season. We sat front row and with the early morning fog rising, it was amazing. We could not see the bottom of the second hill until we got there. For a good part of the ride the fog was just below the track or right at it. Our timing for the ride was perfect. Even counting all the night rides in my younger days, this is definitely my most memorable. And the fact that I got to enjoy it with my son made it even better. He still talks about that ride to this day - that boy has a great memory. He is a little bummed out that he is too short for Banshee. He's at 50 1/2" with shoes. I told him we would get him a stretcher.

After the hiatus once the Zero-G roll was installed it seems like they picked up the pace a bit. They installed the back half of the ride in 5 weeks.

I think it's just shutting off the water and draining all the water from the pipes and toilets.

There are still a set of supports to erect for the lift hill loop on each side of the hill but by the looks of things they are going to start installing some more track.
