If it still had a drop of 300 to 399 ft I think that would still be considered a giga.

How early in the 2013 season did we get the first tease for Banshee? This seems very early to be teasing for something that's not a rollercoaster.

While I agree this location doesnt seem right for a giga, I don't think a hyper and a giga are mostly the same.

I agree but I would still like to see B&M try it.

I rather B&M attempt something like Maverick than getting a B&M giga. I don't think I would want KI to be their first attempt though. Just incase it's an unsuccessful attempt.

Hopefully someone in the next few years. If you don't want to ride it then don't.

I take it for some reason a few people think Six Flags will own KI in the near future? Just a guess or is there reasoning behind this?

Am I missing something here. Are we suggesting that Cedar Fair will buy Six Flags or vice versa?

^ agreed. I would love KI to have a giga but I would like to see them get something different, something Cedar Point doesn't have.

There is plenty of room on either side of Diamondback or next to The Beast but if they get a giga next it think it will be located where Dinosaurs Alive is currently unless they decide to keep Dino's longer than that.

Excluding Millennium Force, the other 3 gigas at Cedar Fair parks have all been/will be built within 5 years of each other. I wouldn't call that a long time span and 3 of the 4 have been built in the last 5 years so I would say they are more of a trend now than they were.

Several of the Cedar Fair parks are getting or have recently gotten gigas. First Cedar Point but more recently Kings Dominion, Canada's Wonderland, and Carrowinds next year. I really don't think Kings Island will be much longer .

Any stand up I have been on has been uncomfortable for me. I just don't enjoy them. I remember someone saying that building codes would prevent KI from building a strata, so what's the tallest KI can even go with a coaster. Obviously a giga is possible considering there are already attractions in the park over 300' but how much higher than that can they go.?

I have childhood memories of both parks. I have been going to both parks since i was roughly 6 to 7 years old. Kings Island is my home park though.

I don't personally know him. I'm comparing the two parks not personnel or anyone that runs theses parks.

While the Reds Hall of Fame Grill is pretty good, I prefer not waste my time waiting for food while I could be riding a roller coaster, or at least waiting for one. All else I could personally do without.

^ wouldn't Son of Beast be a Hyper in some form? A full circuit coaster with a drop of 200+ feet or according to Intamin a full circuit coaster with a lift hill a drop of 200+ feet and no inversions ( the loop was eventually taken out )

I give the edge to Racer over Blue Streak. But I agree Cedar Point is a far better park than KI, to me anyway. Mostly because KI doesn't have anything that compares to Millennium, Maverick, or Dragster and Magnum is a far better hyper than Diamondback. But I would take Banshee over Raptor, Beast over Mean Streak, and Adventure Express over Cedar Creek Mine Ride. Whenever I plan a trip to both parks I we always do Kings Island first. If we did Cedar Point first, KI just seemed kinda like a let down.

Agree 100 percent. But I would love to see a giga at KI in the next 10 years and I think we will. I see a giga as a 2019 project or a 2024 project if they they continue to get new coasters every 5 years.

As long as KI continues to improve and build new rides as they have been, I'm happy with that. I think we will continue to see coasters being built in the 4 to 5 year spans they have been doing. One or two parks may get more attention than some others but that doesn't mean KI will be ignored.

You don't necessarily need a big empty plot of land to build a coaster. Look how little amount of park space Gatekeeper takes up because most of the ride is built over the parking lot and main entrance.

I would love to see a GCI or RMC woodie. Or an Intamin pre fab. I hope your right but I don't see them building a woodie so soon after SOB destruction.

I think KI next big coaster will be a B&M giga coaster. Wonderland got one 2 years ago Carrowinds is getting one next year. I think KI is next for a giga. 2018 or 2019
