That's honestly amazing! As long as they have fun while keeping to the agenda and safety protocols, I'm all for it. I honestly love FoF's Ride Ops. I love how they scare new riders with the whole empty train thing. My last 2 times for FoF, the ride host? would ask if we wanted a countdown. Course most would say yes, and so the first time she said "OK, in" *launch* The next time she counted down from 10, got to zero. "Aw crap, I think it broke" Three seconds later *launch* Some of the most enthusiastic ride ops come from ones where they have control over the launch (FoF, Wicked Twister) My 8yo rode FoF for the first time a few weeks ago and we got the "do you want a countdown" and it made it that much more fun!The only bad ride op I've experienced was on Backlot Stunt Coaster near opening day and I haven't seen that one on that platform since. I ride this about 10 times per visit with my 5yo. I think the last car is the most pleasant experience for taller riders (I am 5'9). I always sit on the inside with my legs turned to the outside of the car. I also kind of push on the metal bar and find that I can control it well enough like that and have very little knee damage. When I rode it for the first time last year, I didn't know and my knees were bruised for weeks. We rode last week in the rain and the ride was smooth as butter! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

We were there on the Monday following opening day and the water was freezing in the kid areas and Zoom Flume. The wave pool was fine, it felt like a hot tub in comparison. The operator on Zoom Flume mentioned the water temp and said that it operates separately from the other water source. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Wait, so now this is limited to only coasters because they can make some people faint? How would one ever know how their body would react if they never tried? Kids have irrational fears, it's a parents job to help them overcome those fears. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I think that is a very different scenario than what many have described here. If I had a child who rode coasters, hated them, and actually became physically ill, obviously that is something that I would not make them do. I thought people were mainly discussing children who were tall enough to ride and had never done the big coaster thing before. Those that haven't tried it so they don't even know if they like it or if it makes them sick or not. Maybe I misinterpreted the topic but I would never force someone that has already tried coasters and hated them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If I had waited until I wasn't scared, I don't know that I would have ever rode a coaster as a child, heck maybe not even now. I think it all goes back to knowing your children, their likes and dislikes, how far they can be pushed, what they are truly scared of, etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

New to the forum and I've been lurking for awhile. This is our first year for Gold Passes and my kids had only been to KI once before (they are 5 & 8). My 8yo is tall enough for everything, but pretty scared of most of it considering I got her on Delirium last year and she was terrified and won't ride it now. After three trips this season, my bribing and coaxing finally worked. For a $20 gift shop purchase and color changing nail polish, I got her on Banshee last weekend. She absolutely loved it! She teared up in line but calmed herself down as we got up there. If she were hysterical I wouldn't have done it, but I knew it would open up a whole experience for her this summer if she got over the fear now.
