DropZone99 Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 On 8-1 and 8-2 it was down, and if you ride The Beast you can see that behind TRTR there is some theming of TRTR tooken out. Quote

TOPGUN1993 Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 T.R. is just being fixed......no retheme sorry Quote
coaster_junky Posted August 11, 2007 Author Posted August 11, 2007 so why was there themeing out back of the ride? Quote
The Interpreter Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 As has been said, the theming is removable so maintenance can easily be performed. It is much easier to get heavy equipment in and out of the building without the theming in the way...and the theming is far less likely to be damaged if it is not present while maintenance is being performed. Racerrider Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 On 8-1 and 8-2 it was down, and if you ride The Beast you can see that behind TRTR there is some theming of TRTR tooken out. IT is either they took out the themeing for repairs or the themeing was tken out because Tomb raider is copyrighted by paramount and now that Cedar Fair owns the ride they do not have the rights to the theming Quote
The Interpreter Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 Cedar Fair has the rights to continue with the Tomb Raider theming for now. . . Quote
Racerrider Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 Cedar Fair has the rights to continue with the Tomb Raider theming for now. . . You right i forgot they have like a 5 year deal with paramount or something Quote
The Interpreter Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 Nope...each movie themed ride is separately licensed. Nick has three more years left on its license. And apparently Cedar Fair has decided not to use the Paramount Parks moniker after this year, even though they had the right to do for nine more years...apparently there is some savings to be had by not doing so, and perhaps marketing wisdom as well. teenageninja Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 They need to just tear it out, it was fun the first few times, but with all the potential a top spin has, it's just quite lackluster in my opinion. Quote
TOPGUN1993 Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 But I heard flume rides that tall these days are illegal. Quote
Dvo Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 ^what? I'm very confused. Also, I'll tell you exactly what's wrong with TRTR. It's not fun. Any other brain busters? Quote
coaster_junky Posted September 16, 2007 Author Posted September 16, 2007 But I heard flume rides that tall these days are illegal. where did you pull that from??? Quote
FOFirehawkFAN Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 TR:TR just needs to be torn down and replaced by another flat ride that fits better with the themeing of that area, if anyone is familiar with Riptipe at Knotts Berry Farm its a top spin but more intense and has a water element Quote
The Interpreter Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 Dorney Park has a ride that LOOKS like that. Too bad that given the way they run it, it is about the most mediocre Top Spin I have ever ridden. Quote
FOFirehawkFAN Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 Really? Because riptide was the best I've ever ridden, and Ive ridden quite a few in my day. Quote
DropZone99 Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 Most likely TRTR won't open back up til' 08'. If it even does open back up... By the way i just whatched a video on youtube about TRTR and it was pretty neat. Search for Kings Island, and it'll say Tomb Raider. It's also on Travel Channel. Quote
Beast1979 Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 Tomb Raider has a lot of electronics and images and all that Crap, which makes it vunarable to failure. Tomb Raider is a nitemare to maintain, and it would make the perfect station for a drop coaster... Quote
