Vistavision
My apologies if this has already been posted but it apears (as of today and probably longer I am assuming) that you are now ALLOWED to put your stuff in the cubicles while riding. I am very happy to see this return.
CoastersRZ
As of Sunday, the only things that you were allowed to put in the storage bins were souvenirs/ cups. I know that at The Beast, they were requiring you to take ALL bags with you on the ride. However, there was an exception on Delirium, where they were letting you place all loose articles in the metal bins. Firehawk, as has been the standard practice since it opened, requires that all items that cannot be secured in cargo pants to be places in lockers before entering the line. Simply put, the park is not responsible for articles, if they become lost when you place them in the bins. The ride operators are not there to baby sit those items. However, if people have bags with them, like say they had been over at Boomerang Bay and have a towel and swimsuit in their bag, they should be allowed to put their bags in the bins. But Kings Island is just trying to protect themselves. By making guests take their valuables with them on the rides, there is not a chance that theft of said items may occur. The Interpreter
Assuming the policy hasn't changed...instead other riders now risk being clobbered by those items? This is something the park COULD have prevented, but chose to instead protect itself from (very unlikely) liability for loss of stuff. Since when is stuff more important than the safety of the other people on the rides? I'm sorry, but this whole decision does not just border on idiotic. It IS idiotic. When does it end? Does someone have to be severely injured or even die by being hit with a personal item first? It could happen. Most likely it WILL happen. The question is when, not if. Like the day my daughter was on beast and that a**hole threw the basketball...I think a guest injury would be more of a liability than a theft..I know for fact things get stolen often in the park...stuff that is left in the grass at BB. Most is recovered, but not all Any "thing" can be replaced..but not a person..and it bothers me the things are deemed more important. cholderfield
when i was there on the 4th for the event w/ my g/f, she informed me as i sat down (after placing items in the bins) that they said to secure them at our feet.....lol..i'm sorry but give me and the other riders an extra 30 secs so our bag doesn't go flying out and whack someone in the head...geez...
