September 15, 200718 yr I would buy Cypress Gardens for 17 million before I would pay 250 million for Geauga Lake any day. You get a nice park full of rides for the price of a B&M coaster and is open all year. I must be missing something because 17 million sounds low to me for what you would get.
September 15, 200718 yr I believe the parks are worth a lot more then $17 million and I expect it will go much higher before this is all over. I don't think Cedar Fair would want to take on additional debt right now but if they can pick up the parks for around $50 million I think this would be a great addition to the chain.
September 15, 200718 yr Author Cedar Fair is not in an acquisition mode at the moment. And this is the stalking bid intended to begin the bankruptcy court auction. It is almost certain it will NOT be the final or winning bid.
September 16, 200718 yr I know it's not gonna happen but this actually looks like a pretty cool park, and it would be pretty cool is CF had a park in FL. And for that price? Not a bad deal.
September 16, 200718 yr Author Again, it won't be for that price. This is an auction. There will doubtless be higher bids.
September 26, 200718 yr Author ...and it turned out to be the only bid, so Land South Holdings ends up with Cypress Gardens: http://www.theledger.com/article/20070925/...G/70925009/1039
