italianchef
On Friday my family checked into Mason's Great Wolf Lodge for the weekend. We stayed in a Wolf Den Suite, which was great for my son. He had a private area with bunk beds and his own TV. He loved it and slept on both beds. We checked in before 12 p.m. and had lunch at the Camp Critter Bar and Grille. I had a quesedia, my wife had a burger, and my son had kid's chicken bucket - that came in a metal buchet!!!Our food was excellent and the portions were large enough for us to have leftovers for our room - which had a refrigerator and microwave. We then headed to our room to unpack. My wife and (3.5 year old son) took a nap, so I hit Bear Track Landing (the water park) alone. I rode Hydro Plunge (the water roller coaster), Coyote Cannon (a toilet bowl type of tube slide) and nearly all the other slides. After that I went to my room, showered, and headed to THE BEACH WATER PARK'S HOLIDAY FEST operning night. I wrote a trip report about it already. Then my family headed back to the GWL and hit Bear Track Landing again. I played with Little Chef in the kid's area of the water park. Next we headed to the Rhythm of Nature animatronic, musical show. Then we played in Nothern Lights Arcade. The next day we got breakfast from Bear Claw Cafe and later lunch from Pizza Hut. That day we hit Bear Track Landing 3 times!!! I did every water slide at the water park - all 8 for adults (4 tube, 1 water roller coaster, 1 raft, and 2 Totem pole body slides), enjoyed the Lazy Creek with my family (all 3 of us fit in a 2-person tube), played basketball in the water, enjoyed the sauna water, played in the kiddie area with my son, and had an AWESOME time. Plus we had an awesome dinner with White Zinfendel wine at The Loose Moose Cottage. My wife really enjoyed the shrimp and crab legs at the buffet. We made it back to the Rythm of Nature show - and I purchased gifts for my family at the Buckhorn Exchange. We even visited Iron Horse Fitness Center. This morning we checked out and returned home. The Great Wolf is such an awesome place, that we were sad to leave. Best regards, Italian Chef We got to bed late

Outdoor Man
even though we live minutes from the resort, my wife and I decided to plan a group outing and invite friends from our previous city of residence to stay the weekend the first weekend of November. It WAS a BLAST... we were so physically tired that we nearly slept all day the day we came home. Our daughter is too young to appreciate the "specialty" rooms, so we just got the base family suite.... which was more than enough for us. We are going again in February! .... and Firehawk51560.... quickly add an "e" to the "guid" in your banner.

Raptor66
Can you visit the waterpark if you are not staying at the hotel?
PKIVortex
Nope, you must be a guest of the hotel in order to use the waterpark. I'm not sure if they give out guest passes for friends who are staying at the hotel or not?
CoastersRZ
As far as I know, you must have a room reservation in order to gain entry to the water park. Although, I seem to recall reading something about having a birthday party at the Great Wolf Lodge, and not all the invitees needing to have room reservations to gain entry into the water park. Coco Key, on the other hand, does sell day passes for people that wish to spend the day in the water park, but not reserve a room for a night. Based on the trip reports that I`ve seen, it looks like the Great Wolf Lodge is a lot bigger and nicer. But Coco Key still looks good, just not quite at the same scale as the GWL

BoddaH1994
Ive never been to GWL... whats that water slide/coaster like ive never rode one. It's kind of neat. You go uphill almost as much as down hill. Charles, how crowded is the waterpark this time of year?
italianchef
It was quite crowded due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Still, I don't think that I waited for than 15 or 20 minites for any water slide.
Outdoor Man
the hotel was 90% sold out the weekend we went.... and the longest wait was for the water coaster... and the "toilet bowl"... 20 minutes... long enough to dry off. When you go.. you just have to time out the predictable hours; those who hit the park early are resting/doing other things by 1pm for a while. Parents with small children pack it in for a few hours during "nap time" between 1-6 (not that children, especially mine, nap for 5 hours- but generally that's nap time). and the 3-6 window is after most of the night before crow checks out and before the new batch arrives.
