I wonder if this place will rival perfect north slopes at all, a place I do not much care for.

Perfect North pretty much offers the best skiing in the area. Paoli Peaks, Mad River Mountain, etc. don't really offer that great of an experience. The last time I was at Mad River the smell of cow dung was overtaking the entire area. The best skiing I have found within a day's drive is at Seven Springs in Pennsylvania.
