I still find it hard to believe that "revenue is not the driving force here" as John Bement states. He is quoted in another article as saying that guests have been requesting beer at the park. While that may be the case, I have to imagine that the reason why Six Flags is going for the liquor permit is to increase their revenue and in park spending at Six Flags Over Texas.

But, maybe booze will turn things around. Six Flags has applied for a liquor license that will allow beer sales in the original Six Flags point, Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington, by next spring.

Boy, this writer is certainly putting all the eggs in one basket. How can you even believe that ONE park with new beer sales is going to turn around the entire company?

Iam with RZ on this one.I think with them wantig to sell beer they want to make as much money as they can.Plus with some of the stuff that happened at the park is not good for them.So all in all SF had a very bad year.

Both Cedar Fair and Six Flags stock prices were down, despite reporting higher attendance figures. Interesting. And Cedar Fair even reported high per cap spending in 2007 compared to 2006. Is it just the entire entertainment sector that is taking a beating right now, or are analysts and investors concerned about the future of these two companies?

Funny, the author pins all of Six Flags troubles on Snyder who has yet to see Six Flags through even a 5 year plan after all the trouble that was left to him under the Story regime. The author says nothing of Story, but trashes Snyder who seems to be at least helping to right his ship, I don't get it.

The author writes for a city paper in Washington, DC. Many in that area despise Dan Snyder because of what they see he has done with the Redskins, parking for Redskins games, etc. Nothing Six Flags ever does will please that paper, unless and until Mr. Snyder is completely removed from Six Flags. That day may be coming, much more quickly than many think. Or not.

I just love how some people who think they can write well, also think they can run a company well, or fight a war better, or lay off less people, or fix all of the economy's issues.

There is a place for investigative journalism, but sometimes this opinionated investigative journalism just gets in the way. Usually the people who can write well, and think they can do all of the things I have listed, have actually done these things before....Colin Powell, Mike Ditka, Warren Buffet, Peter Lynch, in no particular order or relevance. What has this Dave McKenna done? He doesn't pen the other side of Six Flag's Story.

Remember the agenda may not be to run the company better than Snyder, but only to see that Snyder gets his comeuppance...there may not be any good motive involved here at all...that and/or satisfying the popular like of Snyder bashing in the DC area.
