Hank
Cedar Fair changed the name of Face Off to Invertigo. The name Invertigo was assigned to a ride at Cedar Point - a ride that virtually fell apart in the winter months and was removed. I wonder if CF owns the name Invertigo or has an exclusive use contract - however, I think the original Invertigo was made by S&S, not Vekoma. Browntggrr
The ride at CP you are referring to was called Vertigo, not Invertigo.
Gordon Bombay
Well, that S&S ride that fell apart was called "VertiGo", not "Invertigo." VertiGo history at Cedar Point The ride was located in the park's "challenge park". *images from www.ultimaterollercoaster.com Invertigo is the standard name for the face-to-face inverted boomerang from Vekoma, so I imagine they either pay vekoma the right to use the name or some other deal. Vekoma Invertigo
PKIVortex
It's also has been the name of CGA's Face to Face Inverted Coaster since it opened in 1998.
Jasper
Wow that Vertigo looks like it is pretty insane. From what i read on wikipedia it seems like ti would be one thrilling ride experience but the part where it syas the restraints were meant to make you feel insecure that part scares me a little bit. I cant stand rides that have supports like that especially one that goes up 300 ft. and you come down facing the ground at over 50 mph. The first time i rode skyhawk i had my arms up and we got on the outside on a big swing and that was the only time i think i have ever felt insecure on a ride but from then on i loved the ride and rode it many more times. clbehymer
I rode skyhawk for the first time with my 12 year old son, who btw loves all coasters expecially Millie and TTD, but he and I were both a little uneasy when we rode this ride. I guess thats part of the thrill.
DiSab
Yeah, I love the feeling of insecurity on Skyhawk. It really adds to the ride. And it doesn't have bad air on the two highest swings, either.
FOFirehawkFAN
I could be wrong but Im pretty sure the standard name for these rides is "Invertigo" just like the standard names for the regular ones such as "Head Spin" is Boomerang
