CoastersRZ
Case in point: Just look at rides like the Eli Bridge Ferris Wheel or the Eyerly Rock O Planes. Both rides at Coney that require two people to operate, and must be loaded one car at a time. Even with a small sized line of a cycle or two, the wait time can be ten to twenty minutes. Zorba
Dirt cheap eh? Well, Delirium and The Crypt were both multi-million dollar ride installs. Even less technologically advanced rides are not exactly cheap. Yes, cheaper then say a B&M coaster, but not really something that your average middle class family could say, "lets build a flat ride in our backyard instead of a swimming pool since they are dirt cheap." I was thinking more along the line of fair/carnival type rides. Like the Himalaya, Enterprise, Magic Carpet Ride, etc. Which I know aren't dirt cheap by any means, but they are much cheaper than coasters. So you could install a few of them for much less than the majority of coasters. The park I grew up going to had mostly carnival flat rides and I miss riding them. Why would you even assume that by a "dirt cheap" fair type flat ride I meant anything like Delirium or The Crypt? Some flat rides take more people to run - like an eurobungy doing 80+ people per hour, which would require 4-6 operators on a 4-in-1. But a lot don't need many at all. CP was running the enterprise and the matterhorn with 1 person each this weekend.
Kdawg
An NFL-themed Tilt-a-Whirl, with Steelers, Browns, Bengals, Colts helmet-painted cars, & stadium theming... A Ferris Wheel, themed to look like an old mill wheel in Rivertown... A Flying Scooter, painted to look like patriotic eagles, somewhere near the 50's Diner... Jeez do I miss those Flying Eagles
Kdawg
Besides more coasters, one ride i would enjoy every time I went would be one like Chaos at Cedar Point

flightoffear1996
Chaos is fun as hell. Skyhwawk was only so so.
DropZone99
Something we'll never see at KI... an Intamin First Generation Drop Tower. I would also like an Intamin/GCI/Gravity Group/Vekoma woodie. And maybe a Wild Mouse for Nickelodeon Universe.
Monroe
There are many of both...including the latter at Kings Island...ridden Firehawk? Heard of Chang? http://www.rcdb.com/ig275.htm http://www.rcdb.com/id275.htm Yeah, I know about Firehawk. But I was thinking more along the lines of 1-man cars that run along a single tubular track and swing back and forth as you go around turns and whatnot. I think you might be looking for some thing like one of these: http://www.rcdb.com/ig3388.htm http://www.rcdb.com/ig3050.htm The manufacture is family owned and are a lot of fun to work with. http://www.wiegandslide.com/wiegand-home.html
BavarianBeatle
Chaos is fun as hell. Skyhwawk was only so so. I think Skyhawk's ride cycle is too short, but it's a fun little ride as long as there's not too long of a wait.
deidre1976
Well Conneaut Lake has a Tumble bug that is SBNO. I would be pleased to welcome back a Tumble Bug to our park. People would come just because of how rare they are! tumblebug Just an idea!

Coney Islander
Kings Island really needs a highly themed dark ride maybe on the unused side of the Action Theater, probably scary or something along the lines of "Indiana Jones" type theming. (Without breaking Copyrights) How about treasure island or a new tomb raider type ride.

There is also Flight of Fear, which is an awesome dark ride. I think I would prefer another 3-D movie to give me something to do while my food settles or when I am tired of standing. raptor
I think they should add several flat rides in 2010, nothing fancy just some inexpensive traditional rides to bring back the traditional amusement park feel.
Beast1979
KI should get a B&M Hyper. But that'll never happen.

G-Force
Yeah, some classic flat rides would be nice. Get a Zipper and a Ferris Wheel and I'd be happy. But my all time favorite thought of a ride is a Vekoma Pandora's Box: http://www.vekoma.com/index.php?option=com...5&Itemid=

The park does need another dark ride for those hot summer days.
