Martin's Fantasy Island To Get Tax Breaks, Two New Rides

Recommended Posts

Why is it that some politicians are so tunnel-visioned?

Sure, a tax break of $74,000 seems like a good chunk of change for a business. But Chris Collins seems to not realize that FI paid $341,000 in property and sales tax last year. And that number does not include the amount of tourism money that the park brought in for area businesses. Almost 350,000 people visited the park in '07, and that number was up from '06.

$74,000 is chump change to keep any park competitive.
