Would you be upset if they turn the backwards racer around

Featured Replies

I don't ride The Racer backwards.

I tried it once, and didn't care for it, hurt my neck.

I think it would be cool to ride it frontwards, down the Coney strip side....

When you ride it frontwards now, theres not much to look at...

^I agree with everything you said.

I would love the Backwards one turned backwards, but I think that they shouldn't

The recaR would never be the same if it was backwards, it's so much more thrilling than frontwards Racer. About 70% of the people who ride The Racer/recaR ride it backwards, so it would be a very stupid move for Cedar Fair and Kings Island.

That figure you quoted is not correct. Not even close.

Just realized that it was very confusing to read, so i fixed it... hopefully it's easier now?

I have enjoyed The Racer backwards and looked forward to the ride each season. I certainly hope this is not changed.

Seriously, how would your life improve? Does it pain you that much to see a coaster running differently than its twin next door?

I don't really care I have rode that side of The Racer backwards and forwards.

Italian Chef has very little time to himself when he goes to Kings Island with his family. So if he can ride The Racer forawards once instead of twice while his wife and son wait for him, he'll be happy.

then how about this turn the coney side forward and turn the x-base side backward so the views would be different :)

I think he meant your figure of 70% is nowhere near correct. I don't believe it was a spacing issue in your words.

well i can see where he is getting this, beings the recar almost always has a line twice the lenght of The Racer

Well, I will always love The Racers. I think it's a novel idea to turn the roles of the tracks around, one back and one foward, just on opposite sides. I would say it would be a tall order to get them to change their mind. Even still I'm not sure it is going to happen. I may try to petition them but how many people could I get to sign? Or maybe it's just one of those things that can't be helped. It would take alot of people to get them to do that, if it can happen at all. When they cancelled my favorite anime in Japan about 2,000 people in the US .said they would buy it if they would release one final episode. The petition was sent to TOEI animation studios and it changed nothing. That still wouldn't have been enough to cover production costs and well, it just wasn't working out for them. We can always hope though. I will still ride it because I don't want them to get rid of it. I also plan on becoming a member of ACE soon. It's about time I conquered the coasters at Busch Gardens cause when I went there I was younger and not all that avid about them. (I think I might have rode one, Kumba, but I'm not sure about that)

Top Thrill Dragster WAS the tallest and the fastest. I know that King Da broke that record(Six Flags Great Adventure) is taller and faster than TTD. It is 128 MPH and 456 ft tall. *cringes* Wow. That is impressive. This is posted in several places: Coaster Grotto (http://www.coastergrotto.com/) and also About.com (http://themeparks.about.com/) as well as Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_roller_coaster_records) And I'm sure people have posted this on coaster boards plenty.

I think it will be cool because I tell my kids that I rode Racers forward on both sides and now they can tell there kids about riding it backward.

We have more than one poster on this board who is more intimately familiar with the height of Kingda Ka than posting the figures on a board! :) We even have posters on this board who have operated that ride.

And we have at least one poster on this board who does not work for that park, has never been employed by that park, and has ridden Kingda Ka more than 100 times.

By the way, very soon, Kingda Ka will no longer be the fastest roller coaster in the world. See Germany:
