March 7, 200818 yr If they are going to do all that (and they won't), they really need to put cushioning back in the trains. High density urethane foam makes the ride extremely uncomfortable, which it need not be. Now that Big Dipper is closed at Geauga Lake, there is not a single wooden coaster in Ohio running without that stuff....and that's sad. Rolling Thunder at Great Adventure and The Georgia Cyclone at SFOG both also have the stuff....oddly, last time I rode Rebel Yell at Kings Dominion, it did not. Assuming that high density urethane is the orange hard stuff on the lap bar, doesn't the Fairly Odd Coaster still have the original padding?
March 7, 200818 yr I mean in the seating itself. Feel the seat bottom. . . and yes, it is also around the lap bar...Fairly Odd Coaster may indeed have its original padding, but there is so little of it I forget about it! I must confess I didn't get to ride the little thing last season, and I really do like that ride....so, if it doesn't have high density urethane foam, it's the only wooden coaster in Ohio that doesn't....at least until the one at the zoo (which I also forgot about) re-opens, assuming it doesn't! Thanks, gamesguy!
March 7, 200818 yr WAIT ONE MINUTE!!! Are they switchin the backward racer to forward again...this woukd not be to my liking.
March 7, 200818 yr Best topic name ever. If it were 5-6 years would be saying the same thing. The 'unannounced' removal of King Cobra (which I'm well past), decreasing quality of food, live entertainment, cleanliness, customer service, and disdain for high capacity rides. There's still issues now, but I have far more optimism for the park than I did then. As for the ride names, I'm happy that supposedly Congo Falls will become Amazon Falls once again.
March 7, 200818 yr Meanwhile, Mile High Falls over at that other place will not be open during 2008. I still don't really get why people are so fascinated with ride names...I'd rather have a poorly named great ride operating than a closed ride with a great name any day.
March 7, 200818 yr I have mixed feelings about the old Big Dipper at Geauga Lake. The first year I rode, I felt my spine crunch on the first drop and it was a VERY painful ride. However, the year after that, I decided to ride again, more towards the front and it was surprisingly fun. I still want The Racer back to its' original color schemes.
March 7, 200818 yr Meh... I remain cautiously optimistic. I really did like the backwards Racer, so I'm not sure how that will affect me... hate most of the new ride names, but who cares... However I bet the new shows will be really good. I'll all balance out.
March 7, 200818 yr Yea the Backwards Racer was fun but if there wasn't a good reason for I am sure they wouldn't have done it. The ride names suck but its still the same ride so who cares. If Top Thrill Dragster was called Tall Tower Coaster I am sure it would still be as popular as it is now.
