Phantom Theater
I just saw Kings Islands '08 commercial and it showed the Backwards racer forward with people on it?Would that be employees shooting that?
Beast1979
^probably some other similar racing coaster with the trains forward, that or an entirely different ride altogether.
miamidolphins
Yeah this type of thing came up a lot when the Firehawk commercials came on with people on it, when actually they just used the green screen technique on video footage of X-flight. Beast1979 is probably right that it is probably a different coaster.
TOPGUN1993
They did have a Backward Racer photo shoot back in 2004, I think. (I rode Recar 9 times in a row) and scrambler 18 times!!!!
Beast1979
If I rode Scrambler 5 times I would puke! Maybe they just took the Backwards recaR and just flipped it. . . .
The Interpreter
I just saw Kings Islands '08 commercial and it showed the Backwards racer forward with people on it?Would that be employees shooting that? All one needs to do is reverse the negative of the forwards side.... It isn't difficult....
Beast1979
^You would know all about that kinda stuff, Interpreter!
DropZone99
In Indy, the KI commercials don't come on TV til May or June... If someone gets the chance, they should post it!

KDCOASTERFAN
Well I've seen the KD ads for this season & they did a lousy job with it by taking the SF approach & using footage from other parks(mainly KI) so I swear why can't they get it right for a change & just shoot the ads at the park they're trying to market? The Interpreter
Well I've seen the KD ads for this season & they did a lousy job with it by taking the SF approach & using footage from other parks(mainly KI) so I swear why can't they get it right for a change & just shoot the ads at the park they're trying to market? a. It costs too much. b. The target market, with very, very, very few exceptions, doesn't care.
DropZone99
Last year, KI's commercial included it's newest ride... Thunder Road from SFKK! I could see using other CF rides, but Six Flags?
Jasper
Some noobs out thre though cannot tell the difference. But i agree why Thunder Road?
The Interpreter
Because most of the park going public thinks a roller coaster is a roller coaster is a roller coaster. Those who would notice the difference are probably already going to go or not go to a particular park, and accurate depiction of a coaster they already know about in detail isn't going to influence their decision one iota. That being the case, why bother?
CoastersRZ
Not to mention that these commercials are likely not produced by KI or Cedar Fair themselves, but their ad agency. And their ad agency likely does not know as well as many on here do, which rides belong to which park. I too saw the same Kings Island commercial tonight on tv, on two different channels within thirty minutes time.
The Interpreter
That would likely be Yellow Submarine: http://www.bizjournals.com/pittsburgh/stor.../12/story6.html
