Youtube currently has three wonderful videos by yours truly (The Sites, Gordon, Nemo).

Ass Gordon said, he has some wonderful collection of photos at his site.

As for KI buying this coaster, while it has a lot of historical meaning it really does not belong at a park like KI in my opinion.

I wonder how much work it would actually take to get the Eagle back in working condition. It sat for what, 5 years, with presumably no maintenance. Some of the wood looks like it's seen better days.

I do recall the Eagle had some pretty wicked airtime, and I think it would be a good fit for the Coney Mall area. It would fit a lot better than Flight of Fear and Firehawk anyways! (or maybe Rivertown... heck, the thing is practically on the shore of that 'other' miami river currently  )

Speaking of rumors... anyone got the story on the Eagle's accident(s)? The story I got from my dad way-back-when is that the brakes failed coming into the corner returning to the station. The train supposedly jumped the tracks and smashed into a "funhouse" that used to be next to that end of the coaster. Disclaimer: I cannot rule out that story being 100% incorrect

I've done some work on wooden roller coasters before and have many friends in maintenance at various parks. Some of them seem convinced that it wouldn't take much to get it up and running again. It is currently for sale.

Dude, how much? My family just bought 4 acres in North Carolina (about 45 min from Carowinds). Our whole group could pitch in and we could rebuild this thing. Heck you and Tyler are practically Bub and Jim. We should do it.

We only have to get it certified if we're going to have people pay to experience it. Otherwise it's just a fun project.

We need to get a hold of Jerry Couch and see what he's asking.

I pretty much grew up at LeSourdesville Lake in the 70's...the cars never jumped the track..but some people were thrown from the cars due to either rider error and the substandard saftey standards of the day. They used to just have a chain that went across your car..then the single lap bar. I can remember with the single lap bar you could nearly stand up while holding onto the bar. I used to do this on The Beast when it first opened in 1979. Was a big deal to tell people you "stood up" during the entire ride of The Beast. Now I just realize it was ignorance
