Cortney
We are actually looking at getting 4 season passes (they have a deal going on right now where you get 4 for 59.95) and I haven't had one in YEARS but at whatever level pass you buy, you can get into any Cedar Fair park correct? CoastersRZ
No! Only the Cedar Fair Platinum Pass will get you free admission into the other Cedar Fair parks. A Kings Island pass and a Kings Island Gold Season Pass are ONLY valid at Kings Island. If you visit another Cedar Fair park with a Gold season pass or a KI only pass, you will have to pay the regular admission price in order to enter the park. Cortney
Wow that has changed since I got them. The summers I had them they were good to all of the parks. Glad I found that out now and not when we are trying to get in and have to pay full price!
XGatorHead 8904
Yes, that change was made when Cedar Fair took ownership. In the Paramount days all season passes were good for all Paramount Parks. I believe Paramount adopted the policy of the previous owner, but I never took advantage of that perk until 1995 so I'm not 100% sure on that. The Interpreter
Actually, when Premier Parks started buying up parks left and right, they started the a season pass from one park in our chain is good at all parks in our chain deal. We were all astounded when they did. Paramount Parks followed their lead...and now, the trend is headed the other way....recently, passes sold at Six Flags have just begun to carry these words on the front of the card: "2008 Premium Season Pass." No tiering...yet.
PKIVortex
Paramount started the pass good at all Paramount Parks in 1993. I don't believe before Paramount that a Kings Island could be used at a another KECO park. But Cedar Fair did away with it in 2007, unless you buy the Platinum pass which is $150.
The Interpreter
I remember very well that the Sky Princess and the Premier Parks chainwide pass program began at the same time, back in 1992, and that's consistent with your post, too, PKIVortex.... Jasper
I wish i would have gotten one of those platinum passes last year instead of a gold pass because i ended up going to CP 3 times. We could have saved a lot of money by doing that.
The Interpreter
If you have already bought a Kings Island pass or a Gold Kings Island pass and want to upgrade to Platinum, you can do so at any time that the passes are still being sold. I suspect the price may be going up again soon, if past is prologue...
