May 23, 200818 yr I was in line for The Vortex the other day, and I was looking for the old footers from The Bat...I thought I saw a couple...did they use most of the old bat footers for The Vortex? Also, can anyone tell me about the old Screamin Demon? I never knew it, and would like to know more about the history of it. Where it was located, why they got rid of it, and where it is now.
May 23, 200818 yr Might I suggest that you use the search feature of the forums? It can be a powerful tool that can help you answer your questions. (Particularly in finding a thread titled "Defunct KI Rides" which will answer some of your questions.) Furthermore, The Vortex did not use most of the old FOOTINGS of The Bat. Most of the old Bat footings remain undisturbed on The Vortex site and can be readily seen.
May 23, 200818 yr And most of the other questions were addressed in a recent thread entitled Photo TR: CP, which also can readily be found with the search feature..as easy as child's play for a doctor!
May 23, 200818 yr Screaming Demon was near the current Congo Falls, and Drop Tower location. It was at Camden Park but it recently got removed... i think¿
May 23, 200818 yr Yes. Screamin Demon ran approximately parallel to the rear of Timberwolf. It was then at Camden Park, where it was (according to nearly unanimous internet opinion) poorly maintained by that park's former owners to the point that it had to be scrapped. There is a virtually identical coaster at Fun Spot in Indiana, though. As for The Bat's footings, riding Vortex on the righthand side gives you a great view of them if you look down while going up the lift hill.
May 23, 200818 yr Ironically, the same owners who maintained Thunderbolt Express were in charge of maintaining Afterburner: http://www.rcdb.com/ig332.htm?picture=4
May 23, 200818 yr It was basically a small prototype arrow looper. Kinda like a shuttle loop, it launched you into a loop, you go up a slope, slow down, and roll the other way going through the loop again.
May 23, 200818 yr Author And most of the other questions were addressed in a recent thread entitled Photo TR: CP, which also can readily be found with the search feature..as easy as child's play for a doctor! A lot of things are child's play for me, but not common sense things LOL! I suppose that's why I was good in school
May 23, 200818 yr Screamin Demon looks like one boring ride. Oh the things we did for fun... Spoken like someone that's never ridden it.
May 24, 200818 yr I would not necessarily say that any coaster is boring. Some of them are not as INTENSE as others but to me all coaster provide a fun filled experience.
May 25, 200818 yr Screamin Demon looks like one boring ride. Oh the things we did for fun... Spoken like someone that's never ridden it. Yep. The backwards loop was really cool.......

And an incredible feeling when the train drops off the return platform and into the loop. Yes it was. I think the kids and I will have to take a little drive up to Fun Spot sometime this summer... They have several rides similar to defunct KI rides. I think the kids will enjoy it, as much as they ask me what KI was like when I was their age.
May 25, 200818 yr You might want to doublecheck that Afterburner is actually running before you go...last I heard it was not...if not, Diamond Back at Frontier City and Sidewinder at Elitch Gardens in Colorado are the only other Arrow shuttle loops still operating in the USA. Note the comments, too.
May 25, 200818 yr Whenever you go through a loop backwards on any coaster it provides you with a once in a lifetime experience.
May 25, 200818 yr Whenever you go through a loop backwards on any coaster it provides you with a once in a lifetime experience. Um...okay. Vexed Terpy, who must then have had hundreds and hundreds of lifetimes....
May 25, 200818 yr Let me rephrase that then if you go through a loop backwards on any coaster then it is a rather enchanting experience. Is that better? 2000th Post
May 25, 200818 yr Let me rephrase that then if you go through a loop backwards on any coaster then it is a rather enchanting experience. Is that better? 2000th Post I think that Disney has trademarked the use of Enchanted. If you're going to be enchanted, you best check with them first.

May 25, 200818 yr I think that Disney has trademarked the use of Enchanted. If you're going to be enchanted, you best check with them first. Fine. Please explain Taft's Enchanted Voyage... It was a ride that was very similar to a hydro flume. Essentially a dark ride, riders would float through a variety of scenes that were made up of HB characters. Was very, very popular an dlater became the Smurf's Enchanted Voyage.
May 25, 200818 yr And the name was used with the permission of the Walt Disney Company? I think not. No Silly! It was done in conjunction with Taft Broadcasting and Hanna Barbera Productions! Jesh Interp, you're getting to be senile! <G> ..... WooferBear is a bit Sunburned and Kinda Slap Happy.
May 25, 200818 yr Ah. It's A Small World, After All... It's A Small, Small World! Terpy, hoping readers here are not too hefty for the boats...

Jesh Interp, you're getting to be senile! <G> ..... WooferBear is a bit Sunburned and Kinda Slap Happy. Well Gentlemen, before this goes any further, may I add a little humor here and suggest that Mickey Mouse (Oops, I just infringed on a trademark) and Papa Smurf (Oops, did it again) should file lawsuits against each other in order to resolve this issue...
May 25, 200818 yr I actually think I heard they are asking for someone smarter than the average bear! Terpy, who is striving to get this thread back on, uh, track?
May 25, 200818 yr Are you representing someone in this Mickey Mouse case? Well, I AM!! an attorney by trade............. So, following the stereotype of lawyers, (and again using the humor angle), I would represent the party that paid me the most................LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
