My great-aunt was telling me that either Kings Island or Cedar Point one of the "big" attractions at the park is closed this summer? I think she said it was Cedar Point; but not sure. Its a roller coaster, thats all I know.

So far as I know all the Kings Island coasters are rollin' this year (but I didn't ride FOF this year, so I don't know about that one).

(There's one big attraction that isn't open, but that one's under construction )...

^FOF was open on April 19th when I was there, and I have seen a few trip reports of others that have ridden it.

I can personally confirm that FOF is indeed running, in fact it is running very well

The only ride I can think of that is closed at Cedar Point (not a roller coaster, though) is MaxAir, which is similar to Kings Island's Delirium...at Kings Island, the only ride that is down (again, not a roller coaster) occasionally is The Crypt, but I guess it's gotten more reliable over the past couple of weeks...

The coaster that is down IS at Cedar Point...and it's the Wildcat. Here's a thread where it's being discussed.

THe person said major ride which I would consider Wild Cat one. MaXAir at CP is closed. I think they are waiting for a part from Germany to be manufactored and shipped. If I am correct its the same one that Delirium needed a few summers ago.

I wouldn't really consider Wildcat a major ride (I had actually forgot about it being closed) - its a fun ride, but when I enter CP I don't think "Hey let's go hit wildcat first!"....

regarding Maxair....it's kinda ridiculous it's down considering this happened halfway through the 2007 season...hopefully it will be up again soon!

She is probably thinking about Twisted Twins at Kentucky Kingdom, which is not operating this year and is no longer on their website as a ride.

Incorect, maXair seats more and is considered the "largest" of its kind.

Could your great aunt have missed the story about SOB reopening last year?

But people get facts mixed up all the time. Like it's common to hear a park guests point to Drop Tower and say to their friend:

"There's no way I'm riding that, a girl got her feet cut off on that last summer!"

Funny that it was mentioned that Flight of Fear and Crypt have been more consistent lately- They were both closed today. Also, for some reason, the park never opened Boomerang Bay today...

And the park had a decent crowd... most lines were about 15-30 minutes.
