Please bear with me as this is my first photo TR. Hopefully you all like it.

My girlfriend Erin and I left Dayton around 8:30 a.m. This was my first time out of state in a while.

We arrived at around 11:20 and got a pretty good parking spot. Early the zoo wasn't too crowded, but as the day went on, it picked up considerably.

I was surprised at the animal exhibits and the vastly sparse selection of animals present (compared to the Columbus zoo), but I will say that each animal was awake and moving about, so that was nice to see.

The zoo was very clean with numerous employees around picking up litter and branches etc...

We had the chance to see an elephant show, so I didn't want to pass that up.

The food prices were way more reasonable than KI, so we each had the cheese pizza combo meal.

Across from where we ate, there was this neat old clock that had all the gears visible and had a larger clock that was also run by the smaller version. Pretty cool.

We hit the dolphin show, which I'm glad was included in the admission because I wouldn't have paid for it and we were down to about an hour left.

From there we went to the neighboring White River Garden, and strolled around there for about an hour, but left quickly as a wedding was about to start. Here are some shots from the Garden.

All in all, it was a great day, and I'm glad I went. I'm also glad to be able to share a few pictures with you all, and I hope you enjoy.

Old Terpy loves zoos! I now have another that I know I need to stop by, next time I'm up Fishers way (I've got friends there...).

Except that the zoo really isn't that close to Fishers (where I also currently reside...)

But kwana, did you ride their Zimperlan (spelled wrong, too lazy to look up) coaster train???

When what many consider to be your home park is 10 hours from your house, Fishers is close to the Indy zoo...

Or, put another way, when the motel where you stay when you visit Kinzel's Amusement Land is 40 miles from Cedar Point, Fishers is close to the Indy zoo...

It's all relative! :) Or, in this case, relatives! :)

No we didn't. The prices for the ride tickets (in my opinion) were insane. I think it was around 2.25 for one ticket. We looked at it, but it didn't seem like it would be very exciting. It sounds as if it's more for kids and families anyway. There was a 4-D motion theatre there as well, and the show was the exact same Spongebob show that's being played at KI. My girlfriend had read reviews about the zoo and was under the impression that the train was not worth the money, so we didn't ride that either.
