10 Scariest Rides On The Planet

Featured Replies

Where did they get these results from? I'm a member of ACE and GOCC and these aren't my scariest rides. Wait for The Golden Ticket Awards to come out or ask some ACE people some of the scariest rides it all varies from person to person.

So, if it varies from person to person, why can't they have a list? Their opinion is just as valid as yours...or mine! :)

Your point?

Personally, I find flying coasters particularly scary....hanging there against the restraints, face down looking at the ground. I'd put Firehawk in my top 10 list.

I also find the "big boats" that do complete loops and leave you hanging upside down for several seconds (there's one...or used to be...at Carowinds and BGT) the scariest rides of all. (Apparently, I just don't like being held motionless upside down :) )

Too Much Information! <G>

There's nothing wrong with their list it's sort of biased I feel since most of them are on the East Coast. My Top Ten List for woodies and steel changes every year depending on how many new coasters I ride. Top 10 Wood: 1. The Beast-KI 2. Son of Beast-KI 3. The Voyage-Ind 4. Hades-Wisc. 5. The Legend-Ind. 6. Shivering Timbers-Mich. 7. The Boss-Miss. 8. The American Eagle-Ill. 9. Hercules/Twister-Pa 10. Wild Cat-Pa. I'm just saying that before they publish something they should have people vote for the rides.

Oh, Woofer...you make me blush ;)

And, yes Interp...I was not a big fan of TR:TR. (Well, at least of the hanging upside down part)

Yeah, cause that list is completely impartial.

I've been known to make guys blush.

And about TR:TR, not the biggest fan of the ride itself, either.

But it's a solid ride and I understand why some like it.

The title seems a bit "off" from the story to me. They are all coasters, maybe not the one in Vegas, but all the rest.

Point is, I get a bit of anxiety going up a big lift hill, but thats it. Never scared.

On the other hand, I won't even consider getting in line for Delerium!!!!

That thing scares me to death just looking at it!

I used to love Skylab, but it's new big brother on steroids is just a bit much for me.

Maybe it's just me, but a lot of the "flats" are much scarier than most coasters.

Most of them are on the East Coast? Did you even look at their list?

1. Agawam, Mass.....on the East Coast

2. Los Angeles, Calif...NOT on the East Coast

3. Hershey, PA...although this is NOT on the East Coast or even close, I'll give it you as I am feeling charitable...

4. Las Vegas, NV...NOT on the East Coast

5. United Kingdom.....not even in the USA, but perhaps you did not know that

6. Jackson, New Jersey...on the East Coast

7. Japan...not on the East Coast

8. Australia, not on the East Coast

9. Germany, not on the East Coast

10. Sandusky, Ohio, not on the East Coast

So, to be charitable, three of ten are on the East Coast (in reality, only two are). Since when is three of ten (30%) "most of them?"

Besides, when most of YOUR list is from the Midwest and Pennsylvania...no, wait, it ALL is, and doesn't include a single coaster or ride in NYC, FL or California, even...I wonder just who it is that is biased here? Hmmm. I haven't even mentioned you listed Son of Beast as your number two. Above Voyage, which almost no one else would agree with....if anyone would. Above El Toro...oh, wait...I bet you haven't been there, but can make lists of the very best and criticize others for being biased based on their list having most of their rides on the East Coast...Thanks for making my morning.
