BavarianBeatle Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 They're carp!!! They will eat just about anything. Quote
Jasper Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 Carp are like the Goats of the water. Anything and everything. Quote
Captain Nemo Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 I am happy that Kings Island still has the Oktoberfest lake since the Swan Lake is now gone. I always enjoy feeding the fish with the fish food. Quote
Jasper Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 I wouldnt mind having a couple of those carp in my pond to keep the grass out of it. Quote
BavarianBeatle Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 I wouldnt mind having a couple of those carp in my pond to keep the grass out of it. Do you have other fish in there? If so, carp are a bad idea. They love to eat fish eggs and can quickly take over a pond. Quote
The Interpreter Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 A lot of parks keep carp and catfish together. . . . Quote
Thrill_Biscuit Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 I like watching the fish from the tower, especially in the morning when they're hungry. It's a huge, firey blob schooling back and forth across the pond. Very soothing; like a giant lava lamp! Quote
flightoffear4thtrain Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 If you think that they're are a lot of fish at Kings Island, wait until you see Indiana Beach's fish. Now that's crazy! Quote
BavarianBeatle Posted June 28, 2008 Posted June 28, 2008 I remember the fish at Sea World in Aurora. They were all HUGE!! If you started throwing popcorn in the water all you saw were big round carp mouths sticking out of the water. Not one piece of popcorn ever made it into the water. But, I'm here to tell ya', those carp didn't smell too good! Quote
dare-to-fly Posted June 28, 2008 Posted June 28, 2008 I always remember the fish at LeSourdsville Lake being nuts too. And now they're all gone. R.I.P. fishies. Quote
The Interpreter Posted June 28, 2008 Posted June 28, 2008 Indeed, one of our posters here loved to feed those LeSourdsville Lake/Americana fish. They were indeed huge, there were hordes of them and they had the biggest and most energetic mouths of any park fish I've ever seen! Quote
dare-to-fly Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 Indeed, one of our posters here loved to feed those LeSourdsville Lake/Americana fish. They were indeed huge, there were hordes of them and they had the biggest and most energetic mouths of any park fish I've ever seen! Now I miss it even more! I'd always feed the fish while waiting for the train, as it was more entertaining than just standing. It's funny, I always remember the train having one of the longest lines in the park. Quote
Cory Butcher Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 Indeed, one of our posters here loved to feed those LeSourdsville Lake/Americana fish. They were indeed huge, there were hordes of them and they had the biggest and most energetic mouths of any park fish I've ever seen! It is true, More than a few of our posters loved to feed them And now they are gone. One of the greatest attractions of LeSourdsville Lake was the spit-eating carp. Quote
DeLorean Rider Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 One of the greatest attractions of LeSourdsville Lake was the spit-eating carp. Gross... (this would go perfect as a one liner quote in someones signature) Quote
