cid
My family is considering going to KI on July 11 on our way back from a trip to TN. However we will not decide for sure if we are going until the night before. Does anyone know of any place close to KI that we can purchase discount tickets or get discount coupons? jondrewfoo
any krogers or meijers will have somewhat of a discount on the tickets, but the best option would be to buy the tickets online from a local hotel or library computer, you can do that and write down the confirmation number and get the tickets from the ticket sales desk i believe. The Interpreter
The deeply discounted Kroger and Meijer offers ended June 15. And the original poster said they had not decided for sure if they are going, so buying tickets online beforehand is not an option. Anyone know of locally obtainable discounts around the park? Fast food coupons? Coke cans?
jondrewfoo
oh, good to know. thanks for correcting my misinformation. It seems this year the discount ticket prices keep fluctuating and are all temporary. It also depends on where you are before you left. the farther you are from Kings Island the steeper the discount. I remember seeing a thread about discount Kings Island tickets for 19.99 at a speedway in louisville kentucky, but others chimed in higher prices like 24.99 and 29.99 depending on seemingly how close locationwise they were from Kings Island. I would suggest trying speedways, as every time i have been to the ones in my area (dayton) they always have discounted tickets at the counter. those could have ended the same time as the kroger/meijer discount as well though, as they looked oddly farmiliar to the kroger/meijer tickets. Edit: @interp: i just did a quick google search, and found this article about Kings Island offering summer discounts. at the end, it mentions the 15$ discount per ticket from krogers and meijers, and that article was posted june 20th. would that just be wrong info, and it ended just a tad before that was posted? or could it be they renewed that discount? http://www.middletownjournal.com/hp/conten...ingsisland.html
The Interpreter
Yes, I noticed that in that article as well, but when I checked at Kroger last night, they told me the discount offer ended June 15. It wouldn't hurt to check with the local Kroger or Meijer. If anyone finds the deeply discounted tickets still being offered, please let us know. (I actually posted another version of that same article here earlier, and was waiting to see if anyone challenged the date: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=13701 )
jondrewfoo
http://www.wcpo.com/content/news/localshow...5e-b7b58edaa0e9 this article even says that the offer is still valid after june 15th, it just goes up 5 dollars... it would still be nice to be absolutely sure from a person though... After June 15th, most Kroger, Meijer, and Speedway stores will sell Kings Island tickets for $35 all summer.
The Interpreter
The key word there is most. And around the areas I travel in frequently, Kroger stores were selling Kings Island tickets for $24.99 or even $19.99. That's a bit more than a five dollar increase! Thanks for finding that...though I bet steeper discounts are still available out there somewhere, but not, as you have pointed out, near the park. BoddaH1994
Of course, if all else fails you can click here and get discount tickets from the park's official web site that are good any day. They're $29.99 which is a $16 savings off of the gate price.
The Interpreter
Again, Ryan, the original poster is not going to know until the night before if he is even going or not, and will already be in the area by then (presumably without web access...)
