That's why I mentioned some time ago, that it would be a good idea to film the building of our new coaster. That would make for a nice updated coaster show.

A close friend was intensely involved in the filming of that special. It was his last. Shortly after the filming, he unexpectedly died. Kings Island was his favorite park.

That's really sad. I'm sorry. At the very least he got to spend that time at his favorite place. I could see that it would make that special difficult to watch.

Hey, who was the guy with the shaved head talking on that National Geographic roller coaster special in 2006?? He was sitting at the bottom of SOB's first drop (little did he know months later the loop he bragged about would be gone!!). But he seemed like a KI enthusiast....

His name was Steve Urbanowicz...and he wrote several books...from A Cheapskate's Guide to Theme Parks to A Roller Coaster Lover's Companion. He was from Bayonne, New Jersey and was often seen at Six Flags Great Adventure media events.
