how do you know what classic terpy-ism is? you haven't been a member long enough to know the real classic terpy things... or whatever... actually I'm pretty sure I've been here longer than terpy and I still don't know what his "classics" are...

For the same reason you don't have to be around since the real Eiffel Tower was built to know that it is an example of classic architecture. ;) And why in the world does it make any difference?

The post by ucgrady and another on coasterbuzz.com got me thinking.

I may be way off on this but I think this coaster is going to be longer than 4200 ft. I just don't think the person who looked at these plans took into consideration the changes in elevation. You take the first hill at around 200 ft and you can already add 400 ft to the length. That takes it to 4600 ft without even taking into consideration all of the other elements of this coaster. That puts you right around where First Drop and the other website referenced at around 5000 ft.

I don't think it is a stretch that she did not look at the plans this way since she thought the helixes were loops.

I agree. If they thought helixes were loops, then it wouldn't be a stretch to think they never even considered elevation changes.

It looks like the entrance to the ride might untilize the old western building that was used for Fearfest's Cowboy Carnage... See how in the blueprints the que areas for Back Lot and Crypt are a darker grey? So is that building...

Bzzzzt... look again.

The giveaway is the station floorplan. The que gates exist on the side of the station farthest from the Rivertown buildings. The exit is closest. I'd expect the EXIT to use the building.

And for heaven's sake... it's not a WESTERN building ;-)

People always seem to make the mistake that rivertown is themed like "cowboy old west" when in reality it's more themed to just an old mining town. I would like to see an improvement on the theme of rivertown, and make everything fit into the mining theme (The Crypt!!!)

You also have to remember Kings Island is no longer a theme park. CF is a based amusement park.

Yes, we all may know that Rivertown is not a Western Town. But does Cedar Fair know this?

Apparently not... Frontier Trail at CP was not originally western themed... more midwestern pioneer. However, in went Maverick...

It's pretty evident that Paramount did not understand what a Rivertow was?

Don't get me started on that. I am still reeling from that ^*@% cave being plopped in the middle of Rivertown while an Aztec themed ride sits across the park in the German themed area.

What little bit of German theming remains.

Since the ride is in close proximity to the Crypt I would love to see a fly through of the ride building. Something along the lines of Thunderhead shooting through the station. Yes I know Im out on a limb and its not going to happen but how cool would that be? Add some new excitement to the Crypt as well.

I see the potential need for Crypt's Queue/exit area being overhauled. The 1st drop is going to fall from the Antique Photo building to the inside of the RR tracks. That may require removal of the old TR Photo building. The return seems to take the coaster over that que area, over the cave entrance and into a tight helix in The Beast plaza. Does Crypt ever even use the full que?

anytime I've been there I haven't seen the Crypt line that long.

I would imagine with the addition of the new queues inside of the Crypt the line would not be longer than half of the outside portion, however, if it gets extremely popular at some point again, that could create a lot of congestion in Rivertown. Also has anyone thought of how high this helix is. It seems as thought it might be a good amount over the path, maybe something guests can walk under.

I never understood how AE fit in. Seriously, where did that idea come from. The most anticlimatic lift in history...

AE is the type of coaster that follows the lay of the land. I agree that it would have fit in perfectly in the Rivertown area, but the area of land that it is currently on is perfect for a mine train coaster.

Maybe I should have been more clear, not the Mine Train experience, but the Aztec theme in the Coney Mall? How does that fit?

AE is actually listed as being in Oktoberfest.

This may have already been mentioned... but, I caught the end of a report on WTHR/NBC Channel 13 this morning in Indy about the new coaster. They showed the pics of the plans and said that the Park was keeping mum about the project. I just found it interesting that the article that was published made the news over here.
