Especially given that today the market capitalization of Six Flags Theme Parks was slightly over $75 million dollars. Yes, you read that right. Cedar Fair? About $922 million.

Does this mean thate the project in Dubai is over?

Probably the only bright spot from the takeover.

From what I have read, InBev has no interest in keeping the amusement parks. Maybe someone else besides CF or SF could buy them.

CnnMoney reports today that InBev has put the parks or will likely put the parks on the chopping block to save money. Likely would sell for $4 to $5 billion and their sources say it would probably be an overseas player like, Merlin Entertainment Group, based in England, or Spain-based Parques Reunidos.

FoxNews InBev to Sell Parks

Makes sense because that is what inBev does, slash cost, brew and make more money. Should be interesting to see how it plays out.

^ haven't heard anything from/about him for a while...

(Of course, the Discovery Channel hasn't made any new coaster specials in a few years ;) )

From what I am reading/hearing, you might want to think months of the year with Roman numeral suffixs rather than misspelled president's daughters....Failing that, look most likely to a non-US buyer....

I am actually at the beach right now with 4 of my relatives who live in St. Louis and have for probably close to 40 years now. They're quite worried about Brito's plan to cut "non-core assets." They were talking today about how much A-B does for the city, and what things might become if the city does not have those contributions.

As Interp has said, the strongest rumors are pointing to the Busch family keeping their parks, which would be a very good thing!

I found this funny.

the Department of Fisheries would not approve the release of the animals. Maybe the captured ones (not Corky2, she wouldn't be approved) but not the captive born. It isn't as easy as an owner wanting to release them there is laws and regulations that even stranding teams have to abide by. When a animal is rescued the dept of fisheriers (in SW's case) deems the animal releasable or non-releasable, (for wildlife resuces the dept. of fish and game regulates it) The park has no say in where the animals go, nothing.

PETA isn't gonna get them though. NO ONE takes them seriously.

There are animals that Dept of Fisheries will not approve the release of..best example is Corky2 the elder female orca at SeaWorld San Diego. She has a cateract in one eye, has kidney problems to which she is on meds for, and plus getting older (in her 40s)....AND has no teeth.

Plus...when the orcas specially got released...where would half them go? Icelandic, Pacific Northwest etc blood been mixed in the captive borns. Some would not have been concieved at all if they were in the wild cause her (Orkid) parents by nature would have never met. Where on earth would she go? :P
