Advice on planning a trip. (SFKK v.s. Holiday World)

Recommended Posts

So myself and some friends have been kicking around the idea of visiting both of these parks. I have been to Holiday World (last year) but not SFKK and they haven't been to either. We all work different jobs and have hectic schedules but the planets alligned and we all ended up having the 29th of July off. So we came up with an idea: Visit HW in the morning riding Voyage and Legend and the decent rides whilst skipping the water park, we're not water park fans. I just assumed that SFKK had similar hours to KI and was open to maybe 10 and possibly had some form of late afternoon admission like KI, CP and many other parks do. WRONG! I just checked, SFKK closes at 7 P.M while Holiday World closes at 8:30 P.M.! Has SFKK always had these terrible hours?

So I have come to a dilema, is it worth trying out a new park (SFKK) and riding some rides I have never experienced before eventhough the park has a large section closed and now it appears yet another flat ride (their HUSS rainbow) closed, or do we opt for Holiday World which has the amazing voyage, unlimited soft drinks, mediocre raven and legend, yet not much else besides voyage. . . . at least in my opinion. Anyone have any opinions?

I do not recommend a trip to Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom, terrible layout, ride height restrictions, poor park management, (i.e. dirty, ride maitenance, poor ride ops), are only a few reasons, I could list more, for not planning a trip to one of the worst amusement parks I have ever visited.

SFKK is not that horrible. It can be fun to go for the first time. You can get in for like $20 and they have a few pretty good coasters and a great coaster in Chang. I would recommend it for people who have never been. It isn't going to be like KI or CP but if you go into it with a good attitude, you'll have a good time.
