KIBeast Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 I can't agree with waterboarding being done by the U.S. Glad someone is bringing attention to this serious problem.
KIBeast Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 It's basically torture, which we claim we would never do, according to the Geneva Convention.
WooferBearATL Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 The Geneva Motor Show? Is that the convention we're talking about?
MrPostman Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 The Geneva Convention also states that an enemy fighting out of uniform can be universally dispatched (killed). Instead we let them live and give them 3 meals a day and access to the same legal system U.S. citizens enjoy, a privelage that isn't even extended to the soldiers fighting for this country. I don't see a problem.

welchce Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Was it just me or was anyone else picturing this when they read the title of this topic?
WooferBearATL Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Was it just me or was anyone else picturing this when they read the title of this topic? I know that I did. What they showed really doesn't have a place at an "Amusement" park. Maybe at a Halloween Event, but that's the only time that I'd think that it were amusing.

XGatorHead 8904 Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 When does Waterboard Thrill Ride's contract with Nickelodeon expire? And when it does expire, will Spongebob be replaced with the Peanuts gang or HB characters? Now that this has made the news, I can see Nick having a problem with Spongebob being waterboarded by Squidward...
RailRider Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Im not touching this topic with a 10 foot poll.
The Interpreter Posted August 7, 2008 Author Posted August 7, 2008 Im not touching this topic with a 10 foot poll. Or even a ten foot pole. Seriously, though, folks, I posted this for its amusement park angle. This ain't the site to discuss politics...however important you might think that is, there are plenty of other places for that.
KIBeast Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 I know what you are saying, but it was bound to come up.
The Interpreter Posted August 7, 2008 Author Posted August 7, 2008 I don't think so. As a reminder, from the TOS: Due to the board's history of political turbulence, general political talk is NOT welcome on the boards unless it is unbiased and DIRECTLY related to the matter at hand (i.e. Local Senators meet at KI). Threads or posts that the staff deems to be at risk of causing disrespect or result of people feeling threatened will be removed by the staff. If an individual user is persistent, action will be taken against them by the staff. http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=4128
Gordon Bombay Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Sorry terpy, I know you posted this to discuss the amusement park angle to it, but the conversations not going in the right direction and the person who installed it at the park's intention was not for amusement but to raise awareness of topic, one that has political ties, no politics needed here.
