Phantom Theater Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Thats cool,This will be up very very quick.
Beast1979 Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 This is going to be sweet watching this thing go up. I'll come home from school and see which track piece was installed while I was gone!
Kawana Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 And we're off!!! I can't wait to ride this bad boy.
DropZone99 Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 My guess is that the next piece will be put up later tonight or maybe tomorrow morning?
Beast1979 Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 ^I'm thinking depending on when they want to finish this I bet 1-3 pieces a day. Tatsu had an average of 5 pieces a day in a much more difficult terrain than this.
markalan Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Supports need to go up before any more track can go up, so I would guess there won't be any more track going up tonite.
DropZone99 Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Supports need to go up before any more track can go up, so I would guess there won't be any more track going up tonite. That is the main reason why i don't think another piece will go up til' later tonight or tomorrow. The only pieces that could go up are on the transfer track.
Beast1979 Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 ^Well judging from the webcam they have enough supports up to make the turn into the station, and I bet they will put up supports and track up at the same time.
G-Force Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Cool, now time to see our little Diamondback grow up! He's growing up so fast!
Phantom Theater Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Cool, now time to see our little Diamondback grow up! He's growing up so fast! I know, look back at this photo, http://www.KICentral.com/photos/displayima...m=217&pos=0 . The next photo looks weird cuz theirs so much land cleared now!
Beast1979 Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 He's growing up so fast! Don't worry, it'll be fun. Besides, when he's all done growing we get to enjoy him for years to come.
Fear the Offseason Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Hey everybody! This is my first post! I was so happy when I saw them putting that first piece of track in place! woo! LOVE IT! 1
Jasper Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Wow that was really fast like what not even 2 weeks from the press release. This thing is going to go up quick.
Beast1979 Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 This thing is going to go up quick. And is that a bad thing? It sure ain't!
Fear the Offseason Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 I can't see them getting another piece of track up until tomorrow morning.
Colonel_SoB_fan Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 I just watched the crane lower and it looks like they maybe lifting another piece THEY ARE or maybe they were just moving it i'm not sure but it was definitely lifted up by the crane
masonguy21 Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 What is it that they are moving right now I can't tell! is it a piece of track or what? EDIT: Nevermind I don't think they are moving anything, the webcam just makes it look like there is motion going on
Colonel_SoB_fan Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 I can't tell but I can finally say I'm excited to say i'm watching the webcam
indianapolisman Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Awsome to the MAX! It's hard to believe this this will be completed by Jan. They really are on the right "track"
Beast1979 Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 They are definately moving something, it looks like a thin metal board. Edit: Angrybeaver just answered that.
DropZone99 Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Awsome to the MAX! It's hard to believe this this will be completed by Jan. They really are on the right "track" Most of the track work should be done by Thanksgiving! Thats crazy (in a good way!) They are definately moving something, it looks like a thin metal board. Yes, thats part of the catwalk.
CoastersRZ Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Angrybeaver, at the Q&A on KIC day, Jeff Gramke said that most of the track work should be completed by the end of the year. Some of the footings (the ones by The Beast entrance) won`t be poured until after the park closes for the season on November 2nd. Once those are poured, it will be about a month before they put any steel on those footings (so that the concrete can properly cure and develop enough strength).
Colonel_SoB_fan Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 They are moving more catwalk it looks like

Unfortunately i didn't go to KIC Day, so i didn't know. A while back (im not quite sure when though), i heard the trackwork will be done around Thanksgiving.
Beast1979 Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 ^Yes they said somewhere that it should be done by thanksgiving, apperently it got pushed back. You can clearly see the catwalk now, right alongside the track.
