Justin_M17
So me, a few friends, and my cousin (Who I haven't seen in well over 13 years) are going to KI on Saturday, well, we may be depending on the crowd. Anyone got a guess as to how bad the crowd will be? I'm not sure what with it being a Saturday, the special event garbage going on, a holiday weekend...the list continues forever. The Interpreter
I would expect a very busy park. The weather, always a major factor, is currently predicted to be wonderful: Saturday Partly sunny. Highs in the mid 80s. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Saturday Night Mostly clear. Lows in the upper 50s. Northeast winds 5 to 10 mph. Sunday and Sunday Night Clear. Highs in the mid 80s. Lows in the upper 50s. Labor Day through Thursday Mostly clear. Highs around 90. Lows in the lower 60s. --The National Weather Service

But then again KI may be closed on Monday, idk.
The Interpreter
Kings Island is open Monday...it's Labor Day.... And Sunday is a part of the relatively busy Labor Day weekend...it will be busier than a typical Sunday. Remember, that's the day some people once named Brady will be there! I'd completely forgotten about that >.< I'm a bit too young to have gotten into the Brady Bunch. Looks like we need to re-plan our trip, lol. The Interpreter
Busy days at the park can be fun, especially if you focus on doing things you normally wouldn't/couldn't.... Just a point...
Justin_M17
Busy days at the park can be fun, especially if you focus on doing things you normally wouldn't/couldn't.... Just a point... Well, as I've said in another thread floating around here somewhere (I lose track of the names) the last time I was at KI on what would be considered a busy day, which was admittedly the Knievel Jump and not a national holiday, there was a 45 minute wait for AE and most of the lines for the other rides weren't any shorter. And I'm not all too excited by the prospect of waiting in line for the more popular rides for hours on end surrounded by three women and more estrogen than I can put up with. And, completely off-topic, my brother has pointed out that I use parentheses waay too much when I type...I suppose he's right >.< Lol. CoastersRZ
Well, if you don`t want to spend Sunday at KI, you can always spend it at Coney! Typically, the Sunday before Labor day is a slow day at Coney. Which is not true for Labor Day, when the AFL-CIO picnic is held at Coney! Quite honestly I've never been to Coney =O I don't know where it is and I don't have a platinum pass (Or the money to get in) If it's going to be anything, it's got to be KI unfortunately >.<
The Interpreter
Coney Island of Ohio is not a Cedar Fair park, so you don't need and can't use a Platinum Pass. Parking is six dollars, a ride all day is $10.95, and even less for starlight admission, after 4 it's $7.95 http://www.coneyislandpark.com/plan_tickets.php You can add Sunlite Pool for just a bit more, or just do it without the rides, though I don't know why you would want to skip the rides: http://www.coneyislandpark.com/attractions_pool.php ...There's a small steel coaster, The Pepsi Python, Rock-O-Planes (!!!), a Ferris Wheel, a swinging boat not unlike Viking Fury, and other great surprises. http://www.coneyislandpark.com/attractions_rides.php Here's the park map (large file, PDF): http://www.coneyislandpark.com/pdf/Coney08e.pdf The place is full of history...it's the place from which Kings Island eventually sprung! Yep, Coney has it! Where? On Route 52, by Riverbend, very near downtown Cinci. You can even get there by public transportation (and skip the parking fee). http://www.coneyislandpark.com/plan_location.php
Beast1979
I've found Saturdays to be the most crowded days of the week, especially when there are only 3 days to choose from. Ride as many as you can, cross your fingers for at least a few short lines! I'll be going Sunday because my mom's doing the Cindy Brady look a like thing! Expect a PTR. MarketingExpress
Sunday morning might be the best time to go, but the crowd will quickly grow as the day progresses. I would expect long waits on rides all weekend given all of the activities going on.
LongLiveTheSmurfRide
I'm hitting the park for the first time this year on Sunday. My fiance used to work there when Flight o' Fear was new (she still has her cool government outfit with beret) so we'll probably go to the reunion stuff. Justin_M17
Oddly enough KI was under-attended yesterday if anything. The only rides I spent more than 10 minutes in line for were BLSC, The Crypt, and Firehawk. BB was more or less a ghost town, everything was a walk-on except the slides at the front of the park where you need to use the mats. I don't know the name

BB was more or less a ghost town, everything was a walk-on except the slides at the front of the park where you need to use the mats. I don't know the name I disagree, it was less crowded then I thought it would be but there were parts that were packed. Nick U was packed, lines extended into the midway for every ride except Avatar and Reptar, Action Zone was also packed (full indoor queue for Delirium, and Drop Tower, 1-1.5 hour wait for SOB.) BB wasnt a ghost town near its closing, the lines were short, but 10-15 min for most slides were the norm. Finally, it took me an hour to ride The Beast at night, looks like a lot of locals (read smart people) were there because Daddy did not have a long wait the whole day until night fell.
