Beast1979
Paul is joking, that's because the way the sun shines makes it look like that. The paint they put on coasters does that.

PKIDelirium
Actually, it WAS being painted when that was taken in 2001.
fanofki
I was gonna say, that didn't look like the sun shining on the paint. I just couldn't remember when it was re-painted. It looked terrible right before it was painted.
PKIVortex
I was on Vortex crew in 2001, and the ride indeed was repainted in 01.
CoastersRZ
Yes, the repainting of the ride began in 2001. I don`t believe it was completed though, by the time the season had ended in 2001. It was, however, completely repainted by the time the 2002 season opened.
dare-to-fly
The paint on it has certainly held up. She still looks great! Now if only we could get them to paint a couple of other coasters that are in tragic need of paint.
Cormaster
I gotta ask has The Vortex always been Blue and Orange? Because I swear I remember it being blue and red when I was a kid.
Kawana
I gotta ask has The Vortex always been Blue and Orange? Because I swear I remember it being blue and red when I was a kid. Which was how long ago? I've been going to KI for years and I cannot remember it being any colors besides orange and blue.
Cormaster
It probably always has been Blue and Orange. I just thought I remember it being blue and red. I went their many times from 1988 through 1996 so I guess thats what I'm referring to.
