September 6, 200817 yr Kings Island's calendar is showing private events for today, the 7th, the 13th, 14th, and 21st of this month. Anyone have an idea what's going on at KI those days? Sorry if this is already a topic, but I am curious.
September 6, 200817 yr Organizations like P&G, GE, etc rent out the park for their employees. It's not open to the GP or to pass holders.

September 6, 200817 yr I've never heard of a private event running all night. Typically it's a 10-8 or 10-10 day.
September 6, 200817 yr I've never heard of a private event running all night. Typically it's a 10-8 or 10-10 day. my moms company bought it out a couple years ago. it was from 12pm to 12pm
September 6, 200817 yr Author I know that today Honda rented out CP for their employees, so I figured it was something like that, but I wasn't quite sure. My best friend and her husband went because he works at the Honda plant in Anna. She has been texting and pic messaging me all day, and I am jealous.
September 6, 200817 yr One of the days last year, think it was Toyota day. Well the hours were from 10am till 9pm, and most of the people thought the park closed at 10, and so it felt like a 10 close getting out at 11pm.
September 7, 200817 yr I have always been curious as to how much it costs to rent out the park, if anyone knows.
September 7, 200817 yr I have always been curious as to how much it costs to rent out the park, if anyone knows. ALOT!!!!!!!!!
September 7, 200817 yr I have always been curious as to how much it costs to rent out the park, if anyone knows. Unfortunately more then we can ever hope to have.
September 7, 200817 yr Author Apparently, Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey rented out SFMM for their wedding reception in May of this year. http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20199957,00.html So I'd imagine you'd have to have a few stacks to get an amusement park to yourself.
September 7, 200817 yr Dumb question: If your company has a company day at the park, but you have a gold pass, do you still have to buy a company ticket to the park? Or is it somehow possible to get in with your gold pass if you show ID proof? My family was arguing about that today cause we were considering going to GE day.
September 7, 200817 yr Your gold pass is NOT good during corporate or other buyouts. It is only good for days when the park is open to the general public.
September 7, 200817 yr Your gold pass is NOT good during corporate or other buyouts. It is only good for days when the park is open to the general public. Does that still apply if you WORK for that company?
September 7, 200817 yr Yes. The park does not honor passes during the event. And your pass itself says it is only good during days the park is open to the general public. If your company wants to make some concession to those who have passes, that is the company doing so, not the park. I have never heard of any company doing this, though. Most companies either provide tickets free of charge, or charge for them without regard to whether or not you have a pass...why would they care?
September 7, 200817 yr I have always been curious as to how much it costs to rent out the park, if anyone knows. Unfortunately more then we can ever hope to have. I had kind of guessed, but I didn't even know what kind of range it would be. Like hundreds of thousands?
September 7, 200817 yr Given that groups of 5000 up pay $21.99 per adult head and $19.99 per jr/sr head just to attend with the park open, I would suspect that a park buyout would be much more than $100,000. http://www.visitkingsisland.com/groupsales/nonCatered.html

I would expect it to be closer to $400,000, but I really have no idea.
September 7, 200817 yr This is one of those things that almost certainly has no set price...it all depends on the date, the details, the company's history with the park, the type of crowd, what else will be available, etc. The key word is negotiable. And if you have to ask what it costs, you probably can't afford it. Many companies probably TELL the park what they will pay, who can then take it or leave it. It all depends on what is in more demand...the company's money or the park's availability.
September 7, 200817 yr The park is open 10a - 10p nothing more. Some days they close an hour or two early. (I know because i work @ KI) O and Today was GE day. Wasn't very crowded... thank god.
September 7, 200817 yr And if you have to ask what it costs, you probably can't afford it. So true, but once I become rich, I will buy the park for a day and have a KIC Day.
September 7, 200817 yr So what you aim to do is rent out one or two rides for a day, so that would cost a lot less. Millennium Force!
September 7, 200817 yr And why would a park want to be open and not allow guests to ride a signature attraction all day...while there are obviously people riding it? I can only imagine guest relations. Extended ride time before a park opens or after it closes is one thing, but during park hours? Geauga Lake did that an hour or so at a time during Cleveland Clinic days, and even that was a GR nightmare. Don't see that happening for an entire day....if I were the park, I'd charge you ten times more for that stunt than I would to rent out the entire park...as my way of politely saying "No. Not gonna happen. I won't do my loyal, regular paying guests that way."
September 7, 200817 yr So what you aim to do is rent out one or two rides for a day, so that would cost a lot less. Millennium Force! Nah. With the kind of money I hope to make, I will be able to rent out CP and KI. Actually that would be cool if we could just rent one ride and then have a KIC Day on that ride.

September 7, 200817 yr Most parks do not make money on ERT's, and what they charge is nowhere near their costs....they do it for goodwill, to support organizations/employees that have supported them, etc. Again, if you have to ask what it costs, you probably can't buy it at any price.
September 7, 200817 yr why dont we all just pitch in idk mabye 5 or 6 hundred thousand dollers and just buy it off of cediar fair. there. problem solved
