It looks like Hard Rock is a concept better suited for cafés, or for a small themed area of a park, rather than the theme of the whole park itself. IMHO the fuzzy bears in "Kiss"-looking outfits is a bit cheesy. (About as cheesy as having a Canada goose as an avatar...)

Wow. I know some of the former KI associates that went to work down there. Hopefully things work out for them.

I hate to see this happen so soon, but in these economic conditions it would be tough to open a new park and expect to get the numbers HRP was hoping for. But years ago when HRP was being planned, who would have thought we'd be seeing bailout plans being proposed for financial giants?

I love my rides, I love my music. Merge the two and I think HRP is a great concept. I want to see this park pull through Chapter 11 and emerge even stronger. I plan to make it down there in a few years, in the hopes of giving the park time to add more things. Of course, I and many others in the same mindset are contributing to the problem.

HRP has closed it doors, let go all employees and will be filling for Chapter 11.

Only the seasonal employees were let go, the full time managers are still there.

Q: Will there be any further workforce reductions as a result of the Chapter 11 filing?

A: At this time, we are not anticipating any significant changes in our non-seasonal employment numbers in connection with this announcement. Following the completion of the restructuring process, Hard Rock Park intends to re-open for the 2009 season and we invite all seasonal employees to apply for positions within the Park next year.

Anyone interested in a slightly used B&M?

According to my sources, Holiday World's on the short list....

That'd be quite an undertaking for Holiday World. Moving coasters isn't cheap... at all. Plus they'd have to more or less create a steel coaster maintenance division from scratch.

If you actually look at their site it fully explains what their doing, which is restructure. They want to open the park back up, but they need to be financially stable.

I hope everything works out for them, it would be very sad for a 1 year old park to go down.

What would help is some booking some great acts. I saw when this park opened they were going to have an Eagle's concert. That's great but something like Jimmy Buffet with peolpe that follow him all over the country. I don't really know how much that would bring in. But places like Verizon wirless in Noblesville brings in people from all the surronding states for just a four hour show.

I think it would be awsome to mix amusement parks with a great concert.
