Manta Update - Lift Topped Off

Recommended Posts

Vertical construction is now well underway for Manta, the lift hill was topped off yesterday. Today they were installing the first pieces for the drop. Currently, the pathway that runs from Turtle Point, in front of Blue Horizons, over to JTA is blocked off while the remaining overhead work is completed in this area. The ride, much like Diamondback's presence I'm sure, has taken over the entire area......looking nice now!

Wow! Sea World built the lift and what they have of the drop amazingly fast! I wander if Manta will be better than Tatsu?

Ummmm....NO!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks great! I am heading down there next year to ride it. I hope its going to be great!

Agreed...that plus Rip Rocket will make for some good coaster riding in O-town next year!

Well, I do know for a fact that those involved with the design phase of Manta went to Magic Mountain with Tatsu in mind. They were very impressed with the ride and it was definitely used as some inspiration for Manta....as you will see in the coming weeks as the layout progresses. Will it be better than Tatsu? Who knows and unfortunately I haven't made it out to ride Tatsu yet, but I certainly believe that Manta is going to turn out to be more ride than what people anticipated.....
