UK: Lapland 'Magic' Leaves Children In Tears

Recommended Posts

People were waiting in line two to four hours just to see Santa? How many people was this place attracting?

It sure looks (based on the pictures) that people are getting ripped off and that the place is clearly not worth the price that guests are being asked to pay.

 That is awful! It's kinda like waiting 17 years to see a spectacular movie prequel, skipping a day of work and spending $20 on tickets and popcorn, because the hype leads you to believe you're in for something spectacular, only to leave feeling "wobbed and cwunched." ;)

The boss of the ‘Winter Blunderland’ Christmas theme park that has attracted thousands of complaints is a convicted tax fraudster, it emerged last night.

Victor Mears, who runs Lapland New Forest with his younger brother, was sentenced to three years in jail in 1986 after admitting failing to pay £500,000 in VAT.

At the time he was serving a four-year sentence for tax evasion....

Two brothers behind a Christmas Lapland attraction are due to appear in court charged with misleading customers.

Victor and Henry Mears face criminal charges over their roles in the Lapland attraction in the New Forest near Ringwood, on the Dorset/Hampshire border.

The theme park closed after a few days in the run-up to Christmas 2008 after thousands of customer complaints....
