Gold Pass Preview Day would actually be a great day for G-Force to try to beat his classmates Racer record!

Nah, I will be waiting in line for around 11 hours for Diamondback! (I'm getting there early in the morning!) And then I'll be hitting Diamondback probably twice and Beast a few times.

^^Nevermind that with a likely one train operation on Racer and short operating window, there's probably not enough time to beat Don's record this day anyway!!

How exactly will the early entry work? I guess my question is if you show up with a half hour left, will you still be able to gain access to Diamondback?

I'm assuming you're talking about a normal operating day? If so, then if D-back EE starts at 9:00 am, then you should still be able to enter the D-back queue at 9:20, 9:30, 9:50, whatever...similarly to CP, I'm guessing.

If I had a Gold Pass and lived close to Mason I know what I'd do. Since at least 50% of the visitors will be in line for Diamondback; I'd hit all of the other rides as many times as I can, because there should be practically no lines. Then with an hour left before closing, jump into line for Diamondback for one night ride.

Except that CW closed the Behemoth line at 8:30 pm, although, it was re-opened briefly at 9:30 because, ahem, B&M hypers are legit people eaters!!! This is still something I don't think many people fully realize...now, all my Goliath and Nitro rides were always flash passed and AC was during all slow days, but for Behemoth the line literally never dead-stopped moving with full operations!!

However, while I suspect the Canucks are of a different ilk than the Ohio coaster crazies, I have a feeling KI will be very generous with their customer service on SPPN (i.e. the line may not close early)...future D-back crew beware. ^_^

^Yep that's already confirmed. I bet the park will have it open at 5 pm since that is the same time in which Behometh opened for preview day.

Thanks so much! After I leave school i'm going to KI to wait. I wish I could be waiting there all day, Stupid school...

^^For what it's worth...at 1:00 pm on SPPN at CW there were only about a dozen people there!?! Although, by 3:00 it was in the 100's and quickly growing before the park started letting in people to wait for rope drop at 4:00.

Of course, Canucks ≠ Ohio coaster crazies!!

I know personally, I'll be there from about 3 on, if not earlier.

I've already requested April 17th off work. That way, if it's a full operating day (which I doubt would happen, but it would be GREAT!) I can go all day. If it's just the evening (most likely) I can get there early with the rest of you instead of having to wait until 5:00 to get off work, drive up 71 3 exits and then fight the crowds!

The season pass preview day, open to all gold and platinum pass holders, on the 17th of April will likely have the same hours as what Friday the 24th has. Friday the 24th, the park is open to the general public and all pass holders from 5pm until 10pm.

People that are planning on showing up to the park much more before 4:30 will likely be disappointed, as they likely won`t open the metal detectors and front gate until 4:30 or 4:45. And I`d imagine that come opening time on that first day, they may very well have security walk people back to the ride entrance in an orderly manner when the park opens at 5pm. I`m sure they do not want to have a stampede. Wal Mart found out what happens when you have a mob of people waiting for a store to open the hard way...

If the park truly does not open to passholders until 5p.m. that day, there may be exactly no point in arriving 12 hours early. None whatsoever. Given the aggressive nature that some security forces can take (and rightly so), you could even find yourself in some trouble...

I plan on getting there at about 5, in the morning that is! My parents will get me out of school that day if I get good grades, same deal with my friends.

Uhhh, Ok,,, Overkill maybe? "Camping Out waiting for Diamondback" anyone?

Not to mention that A) they likely won`t even open the parking lot until 4pm and B) you should not skip school just to camp out in the parking lot at Kings Island to be among the first to ride Diamondback. Even if you were to show up at 6pm, you`d likely still be able to experience Diamondback that first night.

As long as Diamondback isn`t tempermental like Son of Beast was on its Friday night preview back in 2000.

Your statement could be contrived as a rather bad joke if taken in the wrong light. I understand you mean in terms of capacity, but in light of the SFKK incident, it is perhaps in bad taste.

How do you guys know the parking lot won't open until 4? And anyways my parents will let me take off one day of school a year anyway if I get good grades so I thought that would be a good day to spend it!

What joke? I was just saying something  ................

What joke? A ride that eats, eats, eats people (your repeated verb) could be read as one that could cause someone to lose their feet, for instance. Does THAT spell it out for you? Words mean something. Choose them carefully. Coasters are not supposed to eat people. We all hope and pray that Diamondback never does.

In defense of Beast, we all have heard the term "people eater" thrown around on this site and also by KI staff. I don't think he meant anything crazy or was trying to imply anything, rather he was just repeating a term that most users on this site are familiar with. I do agree, however that tact is necessary at times and it probably wouldn't hurt anyone to stop and think before the "Add Reply" button is clicked.

As far as hours and such, my estimates for my arrival are very rough. Of course, more will be made known to us at the appropriate time and I'll adjust my arrival as such.

First, there is a tone difference in calling a coaster a people eater and one that eats and eats and eats people. For some reason, the last one just sounds far more literal.

Second, as to Kawana and his timed arrivals:

Can we then have announced:

"Ladies and Gentlemen at Cedar Fair's Kings Island, Kawana has arrived."?

And then, at the end of the day, and you have left:

"Ladies and Gentlemen at Cedar Fair's Kings Island, Kawana has left the property."

Just seeing that calendar sends chills up and down my spine. Just knowing that on those days i see, Kings Island will be back up an open again.

Some people take things FAR to literally, I think everyone here knew exactly what I ment.

...which, of course, is why a mod here, CoastersRZ noted what some could think and advised you to think carefully. What YOU think about what you post in such ways is not important. This site gets thousands of visitors each day, many, many of whom are here to read about the grandest attraction to be added to Kings Island perhaps ever. We don't want them to be in fear of being eaten. What the regulars think, by contrast, is of almost no importance. They will go regardless.
