Cedar Point's loose change helps charity

Featured Replies

I believe, some one can correct me if I`m incorrect, that KI does in deed collect loose change from the park. However, I believe that Kings Island uses all the loose change they collect to fund a couple of scholarships each year for seasonal associates.

I know at one point they even donated some of it to one of the frequent disabled guests named Robbie. I'm not sure if they still do or don't, but he always made my day when he visited.

Jezz, almost $6,000 a year of loose change. That is only what is found. I can begin to think about how much is unclaimed some where in that park.

Rides like Demon Drop will do that!!

It pretty much emptys everyones pockets when you lay on your back at the end of the ride!

It's great the ride operators don't just scoop it up and take it home, it goes to a good cause!

^ You are correct. At least as of 2004, KI's loose change goes towards scholarships that the associates can apply for during the season.

Well, in 2004 KI was still owened by paramount's so maybe Cedar Fair is having KI do that too?

And that guest named Robbie (not to be confused with me) could frequently be seen riding many of the coasters, including The Beast. I didn`t see him as much this past year as I had in past years.
