With spring right around the corner and Kings Island opening day nearing,it's time for me to get in shape.

Near the end of last season,The Beast was a bit tight on me but i was able to ride,so my goal is to be able to fit on all my favorites this season.Im also looking forward to Cedar Point this year and i know i have to really trim down to ride there.

AS of today i have dropped 12 pounds from 280 to 268. My goal is to lose 108 more pounds i know this will take time but if i can trim down to 225 to 235 Cedar Point should be no problem for me.

Stay tune for more updates.

hurry up Diamondback

Good luck, and keep up the good work and fight!!

If you ever make it out to Great Adventure or SF New England, you'll need to be as slim as possible for enjoyable El Toro and soon to be Superman: Ride of Steel rides (whose new 09 trains will feature Toro's restraint system)

And remember that above all else, cardio and diet are the biggest keys (IMO) with weight loss...and you only even need just a little of both to make a lot of progress!

Actually, I have found that many people can ride El Toro who do not fit Millennium Force and Top Thrill Dragster. Ditto for Kingda Ka...people fit it who cannot fit TTD.

It can be done.

Terpy, who once was a much more substantial man...(and who once didn't fit Superman: Ultimate Flight at SFOG, V2 at SFGAm or Wicked Twister at CP...)

I laugh at a lot of things...like dive coasters in river towns, so called unsuccessful parks on fairgrounds in nearby states, etc. I just hope we have a lot to laugh about in future years. There is very little room for error for the industry in the coming perilous years, given the economy and current debt levels for many of the players.

Fine, Cory....this is what was going to happen, and it really is no great secret. I almost wish the Story story had lasted just a wee bit longer inn Jackson:

...We have an amazing amusement park and not a hotel! I think we should have a hotel because I think if we had a hotel and a really big and fun amusement park, we could really attract people into the township. So, that is why I think we can use more businesses in Jackson.

Congrats on the already significant loss. Double digits is nothing to sneeze at! Just take it slow and remember that you didn't gain all of it in two months, so you won't lose it all that fast either! It's taken me about a year and a half to drop 20 lbs but I've done it and I'm dropping more each month. I'm hoping that with less weight on me, the coaster blackout (which I NEVER experienced before this past summer) will go away and the wooden coasters won't feel as rough. When you're squeezed tight into the seats (my hips barely fit in The Beast - I can get the lapbar down without a problem though, I'm just built wide!) things are a lot more uncomfortable and seem rougher than they really are. My goal for this season is to get into The Beast without having to do any wiggling to get comfortable.

Good Luck!. I was in the same boat. I'm 5'8' and was up to 268 Xmas of '07. Had some sugar issues( a big scare since diabetes runs in the family). Last year I lost 65lbs just by changing my diet and getting to the gym. I feel a lot better, and plan to be at 170 by the end of 09. I can't wait till I can get on a roller coaster this year. Unfortunately it probably will be at CP instead of KI. Don't have much time or money this year for both, so the GF and I are traveling up north to CP for our yearly amusement park fix. This will be my first trip to CP. I can ride DB next, this year I get to experiance MF for the first time.

I am 6'2 295lbs, and 42in waist.

I usually dont wear jeans to park, but gym shorts and or swim trucks (like I always did even at lower weights to to comfort)

but I can fit on everything at KI in 2008, those PTC trains are tight on the hips, but legroom too.

Millenium force I fit in 2007 with help from a buddy pulling seatbelt for me,

TTD I can fit fine, and get myself.

For some reason Wicked Twister gave me hell in 2008. I was not able to ride.

I am on a 12 week program to lose some Lbs.. no real goal. I know I can fit on everything just fine at 279-280s.

I am not all fat, I have a lot of muscle, but also just a big frame.

Congrats Pikeman!

Not to hijack your topic, but one of the gifts I got for Christmas was a new scale (we've been saying we needed a better one for years). I finally got it out and used it for the first time Sunday...and let's just say I was not happy with what I saw...it was the heaviest I've ever been. Fortunately not "season premiere of The Biggest Loser" heavy , but there was a mark I never wanted to go above, and I was above it. Looking at myself in the pictures of the KIC event also reaffirmed that something needs to be done. (Why is it that I always think of myself as skinnier than what I actually am?)

Since then, I've put myself on a strict diet, and will be upping my efforts at the gym (which I have let slide recently). Let the weight loss begin (again)!
