Tomkatt7 Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 They should have 1 train on Diamondback go backwards. Yeah, and you don't get to pick it!!! Luck of the draw. When it comes up, you either get on, or go to the back of the line and try again!!!! Quote
LongLiveTheSmurfRide Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 I miss the Skylab. I can say that, in my opinion, all the other removals made the park better. While I did Like KCKC, I can see them taking it out. It still left the park with another log flume, WWC, and Amazon falls. I partly agree with that except that KCKC didn't soak you. It was just an enjoyable flume with a fun drop but I hardly got soaked, just "refreshed." But when they got rid of it; everything else soaks you. Falls and WWC were already known to do that, but when they re-themed to Thornberries, that freaking elephant at the end just ruins a laid back and enjoyable ride for me. Quote

There is a better chance of nickel admission days with free parking and free all you can eat LaRosa's pizza than there is of a B and M hypercoaster running a train backwards. Quote

I want to have all I can eat LaRosa's and THEN ride Diamondback backwards. It could be a special Diamondbackwards Event! Quote
The Interpreter Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 I think you need to put that particular fantasy behind you. Quote
SonofBeast07 Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 based on the number of groups on facebook i'd have to say Son of Beast w/ loop circa 2004 would be the ride most missed Quote
kings_island~thrill is me! Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 They should have 1 train on Diamondback go backwards. Can someone say whiplash? Quote
Tomkatt7 Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 I think you need to put that particular fantasy behind you. Or would that be "in Front" of you, in this case???? Quote
The Interpreter Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 My head hurts. One thing is for sure...it certainly wouldn't be nostalgic. Quote
LongliveKingsCobra Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 I do miss, KCKC...I loved that ride to death. I also have a fond memory to Antiuqe cars, only cuase I never understood why the line was an hour for such a small boring ride...I guess people liked getting jerked back when you hit the side of the rail......ah, the mystery.... Quote
KIfan73 Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 I'd have to say Antique Cars. I rode Enchanted Voyage and Lion Country Safari, but don't remember it...don't know if that counts as "missing". Quote
skaterboy22101 Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 and kenton's cove keelboat canal, but that one is just because i never got to ride it before it was replaced with empty garage: the ride Woah when did thay get that ride skaterboy who just HAD to Quote
The Interpreter Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Last I checked, that garage has a GIANT Top Spin in it. Who's something? Sorry to encrypt such things. Quote
LongliveKingsCobra Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 ....He's on a roll ladies and Gentalmen lol Ah, what would these forums be w/o Terpy here? Quote
raptor Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 I have a hard time picking, but I'll go with the antique cars, if for no other reason, it really added to the landscape of the park, it was pretty to look at nestled behind the Eiffel Tower. Quote
Oldschool75 Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Der Spinning keggers, and the witches cauldron. I used to love the spin those as fast as I could. I also miss the themed water ride like Enchanted Voyage or the Smurf ride. They really need to bring something like that back. Quote
IndyGuy4KI Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 I remember riding the big 12 lane carnival type slide that you sit on those brown bags to ride. Anybody remember that ride and what it was called? Quote
The Interpreter Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Sure, first it was Giant Slide, then Flying Carpet and finally Scrappy's Slide. http://www.KICentral.com/history/timeline.php Quote
windshawne Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Three way tie for me-bavarian beatle, antique cars, and rotor. Those were always fun no matter what. Quote
kittenpooh Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 I miss the cobra. A stand up coaster is a wonderful ride! I also miss the Smurfs! Its a childhood things I guess! Quote
WyldChild Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 My first visit to the park was the summer after I graduated from high school in 87, my parents were never one for rides, so I am very jealous that some of you have memories of things that I never knew was there. Anyway...with my limited experience I would have to say that after visiting the park this past season I really missed the loop in the Son of The Beast. I wish I would have been able to ride The Bat. Justin_M17 Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 It's the off-season. Every ride at KI is missed! Quote

Thrill_Biscuit Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 I miss Der Spinnen Keggers, Zodiac and the Giant Slide. As for a backwards train on DB? I think it would be cool to watch the splashdown from that angle! Quote
IndyGuy4KI Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 It's the off-season. Every ride at KI is missed! That is so true. Does anyone else dream about riding the rides all winter long as I do? Quote
Thrill_Biscuit Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 No. I keep dreaming that I park my truck, walk with huge crowds all the way up to the front gate, only to be reminded by some guy in a nice business suit that it is off-season, at which time, suddenly, all the leaves disappear from the trees and the temperature drops 60°. Quote

That is a nightmare! I always dream that I go to ride The Beast, and it is not even the same coaster any more totally replaced, but same name. I ride it and it totaly stinks. Quote
The Interpreter Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 I see you have ridden The Riverside Cyclone, Terpy said dryly. . . Quote
goofywdw Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 I see you have ridden The Riverside Cyclone, Terpy said dryly. . . You should write a book, I would buy it! It would be about the amusement park industry but with lots of comedy thrown in. Quote
