  1. Congratulations! Still like it like the first 100?
  2. That is a great article Don. I love this idea. I also think the tasting cards need to come back for Food and Wine and Grand Carnivale. When we went to Silver Dollar City a few weeks ago, my whole family bought tasting cards and it was a lot of fun. Like you said, we were like, "what do we want to try next." The cards make it fun, which gets people to spend money. I have refused to purchase food at KI's events since the cards disappeared.
  3. I guess John M. hit the nail on the head about ArieForce One! 🤣
  4. Sorry about the issues. Since this is @Dane's site he really needs to determine what he wants to allow or remove. I will ask him to take a look.
  5. Their flash sale looks like the turnstile numbers are not panning out this season anyway. $22.50 is dirt cheap to get those numbers up.
  6. What do you propose they do to increase the quality? If you were to design the food for the park, what would it look like?
  7. I would love an RMC, but I think we need a ground up RMC, not a relocation. Now, if this is the only way to get one, I am all for that too. What are your thoughts?
  8. I wouldn't hold my breath. When you have people bringing baby's in strollers and their 3 to 10 year-olds to Haunt, only to go complain to guest services that things are too graphic, the park can't win. They are in a no-win situation unless they simply stop letting little kids through the turnstiles
  9. Looking forward to riding it next year. Did you learn if there be an easy way to come from the water park to this ride? I know they want people to have shirts/shoes in the dry park, so curious how this will affect those in the water park wanting to come ride this?
  10. Let's hope we start seeing some positive changes across the chain. I have to say the past 2 weeks I have been to SDC, Six New England, Great Adventure, Enchanted's Great Escape and WOF. We really have it good at KI. Now, we can always improve and should, especially the details like the fountain spouts not working, but we are a top tier park in the SIX portfolio.
  11. BeachBlast X-Treme is this years International Showplace show. Catch all the high-flying acrobatics and serious air from this year's Beach Blast X-Treme at Kings Island. See photos and more here: https://kicentral.com/current-shows/beach-blast-x-treme/ What do you think of this year's show? Let us know below! 👇
  12. Paging @Daneto take a look.
  13. I love the very creative way you stated that. 🙂
  14. We will wait for the press release before plastering a url graphic the park uploaded. Their teasing campaign has been so fun to watch.
  15. Visited Branson, MO and there is a new attraction going in between Powderkeg and Wildfire at SDC. Lots of land clearing and already vertical with the structure in the center. I thought it was an old structure for it is intentionally weathered to look old, not the footers are new. Not sure what this is as far as coaster type, but there is also already a transfer shed for what looks like 3 trains. Thoughts?
  16. What about the shows that got nothing over this past weekend? Am I wrong that would have brought more bodies through the turnstiles to see them and spend money?
  17. I am going to lay this out a bit and hopefully @DonHelbigcan explain a few things for I simply don't understand. I'm no way it's this too be disrespectful to SIX PR. I am just asking questions to learn. I was at the park Thursday through Saturday. During that time of me just relaxing and enjoying the park I was posting on the KIC socials. I highlighted merch, promoted the outgoing magic show, mentioned Congo being back open (with over 113,000 views and still counting as of this post), made 5 posts about the Opening of BeachBlast. All of this is just fun for me to do and I enjoy it. I looked at the Kings Island Facebook page and saw only one post about the Halloween haunt. I thought that was odd timing with it being a holiday weekend. I don't understand why the outgoing magic show and the opening of the BeachBlast show were not highlighted. It seems like that would have made a great social media post over the weekend. As much as it cost them to bring those two shows to the park, you would think they would want to get the highest ROI on them. So my question would be, has PR and marketing changed in the industry, all industries? Am I wrong in thinking that a social media promotion and highlight of the outgoing and incoming show would be a benefit for the park, or is that not how PR works now? Is data showing it not benefit the parks to do such things any longer? It seems they're relying 100% on fan sites and Facebook groups to do the promotion for them? I realize SIX is trying to save money and may not be the fault their PR staff themselves for I don't understand all they are doing. Any PR majors want to jump in here and help me understand? Obviously this is to spark conversations so everyone else give your thoughts as well.
  18. It's not very family friendly to leave a dead cat sitting out there for everyone to see. 😂
  19. Back up! FB_VID_2027701799472995025.mp4
  20. They are in a bad state and its still early in the season. I sat by them to eat my dinner from Grain & Grill. I know they are trying to save money, but these details are noticed. If they can't fix these very visible issues, what are they skimping out on behind the scenes we can't easily see? Here are the photos I took this evening of the fountains and you can see the amount of jets not working.
  21. I don't think it's going anywhere. There's maintenance working on what looks like a pump right now.
  22. The cat on her lap is finally looking its age now! I absolutely love this ride and usually take 3 or 4 cycles per visit.
