What bothers me is that they use AI, but then don't fix the errors that exist. Like if I was the one in charge of what gets sold, I would be like "well Orion only has 3 rows so let's change that" That should have been addressed before they even printed shirts and hoodies of it. Just goes to show the lack of care they put into merchandise.

Phantom Theater: Opening Nightmare Reviews
Diamondback_Is_King replied to IndyGuy4KI's topic in Kings Island
I agree. MUCH better than Boo Blasters! But I also think the ride could be better. I wish that there was a more clear plot throughout the ride, although Boo Blasters didn't really have a plot either. I just don't understand the whole "shine the flashlight at the Ghost Notes!" thing. Like why? I did sense there were some "dead spots" throughout the ride where nothing was really happening and I was just waiting for the next scene and the next time I got to use my flashlight. Don't get me wrong I really like the ride and think it's a great upgrade, but if you strip down everything it's essentially a very similar ride to everything else that has been in that building. If I were to give it a grade, it would be a B -
Kings Island 2026 Food Reviews and Discussion
Diamondback_Is_King replied to IndyGuy4KI's topic in Kings Island
From every time I've ever gone to Chicken Shack they always load me up with chicken and fries. Probably was an opening day thing. Or maybe their cutting down on portion sizes again. We saw this with Panda Express, Enrique's, and i'm sure there were others too. Give it time. I don't really like going to KI during the first month or 2 of operation because of how packed and slow everything is. But I'll be there tomorrow so I'll have to check it out. How were the food lines today? Normally they are pretty long in the first few opening weeks. -

Headed to Kings Island this weekend?

I'm going in with limited expectations though. I'm guessing I'll only ride 2-4 rides all day. But I'll be happy even if I just get to ride Phantom Theater. Going on Opening Day for me isn't about getting on every ride, it's about taking in the atmosphere and revisiting the theme park I love most! May we all have a great KI 2026 Opening Day!!! -
If the ride was still operational and the power didn't shut down completely, yes you could still rack up plenty of points. But half the targets were not always working anyway. This does remind me of a time I rode Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin at Magic Kingdom and my vehicle got stuck for like 5 minutes. That was the first and only time I ever got a score of 999,999 and it was quite memorable for me! I tried multiple times, even did all the optimal strats, but never quite made it to 999,999. I was close, but thanks to that little breakdown I was able to hit it!

Honestly, I don't really care if it looks like a castle or a theater. I do kinda wish they changed up the front a little besides some new paint and exterior details. But as long as the inside of the ride is good, the exterior doesn't really matter to me. And the GP will just see an abandoned/creepy building and think it's cool. The actual ride experience is what really matters. But I will say I really do like the new look of the castle/theater facade entrance! I like the maroon-ish color. Can't wait to ride this!!!

BWG Future Additions Survey
Diamondback_Is_King replied to johnjniehaus's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Maybe I just got a more lucky experience at BGT than you. I haven't visited since 2022 so it's been a while, but when I was there Iron Gwazi was running 2 trains (albeit at a slower pace) but the line never got over 45 minutes. But recently I have heard more stories of bad experiences at BGT so maybe 2021-2022 was a good year for them and they just fell off. If everything that happened to you happened to me though, I might be more inclined to pick the better park experience in BGW. Just goes to show that guest experience is mostly more important than the ride itself. People will come to the parks and enjoy the rides, but not if they aren't open or if they have a bad experience. -
BWG Future Additions Survey
Diamondback_Is_King replied to johnjniehaus's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Over Tampa?!? I do agree that BGW looks better, but I think that BGT is the better park overall. If I were to pick one of those options listed, I would choose the RMC. Busch Gardens went crazy with Iron Gwazi, so maybe they'll go crazy again with a new RMC at BGW! -
Totally agree with this. Guests have expectations of what they want to get done and what they should be entitled to. You see this a lot at bigger parks like Disney or Universal where guests pay so much money they feel like they "deserve" a certain experience. And if that expectation isn't met, people get mad. Then those people meet each other and they're just looking for a reason to fight. The parks have been closed for a little while now, and guests can't wait to get back on their favorite rides. But what guests don't always understand is that ALL the other guests want the same thing they do. KI Opening Day is always so crazy because it's new and it's been a while since everyone has been. Plus everyone wants to use of their new pass they just bought or renewed and so they all go on Opening Day. Going on Opening Day is fine, as long as you manage your expectations. I went on Opening Day last year, waited 45 minutes just to get in the gate, ate lunch, and rode 2 rides. Waited 90 minutes for both Beast and Diamondback. Then I waited 10 minutes just to get a drink. Then I went home. I don't go very often the first month because it's so busy, but I still go and have a good time because I manage my expectations. I know that when I go on Opening Day, I will only get a few rides in. But when people get their expectations too high, that's where disappointment leads to tempers flaring. And that is when fights occur. Just my thoughts

Kings Island will have one less roller coaster in 2026
Diamondback_Is_King replied to DonHelbig's topic in Kings Island
Yeah never thought of this as a roller coaster. There's no chain lift, not really a launch, and it's not a complete circle. That's like saying that these kind of rides are roller coasters: -
Epic is quite the park I will say that. By no means is it the best park I've been too. The theming on the rides there are really great, there's just not enough of them yet. In maybe like 5-10 years it will make it's way up the rankings. Don't get me wrong, the park is amazing! It just needs more. Hollywood Studios doesn't have a ton of rides either (9 main rides), but they have enough other stuff to keep you busy. They have the Indiana Jones show, the Cars show (is that still there?), Beauty and The Beast show, Frozen show, interactive stuff in Galaxy's Edge (lightsabers, droids, meet and greets, etc.), and just a lot more things to do in general. Besides the 11 main rides, they have the HTTYD show and the HP Cricus show thing. But these break down way to often to be consistent. When I visited, we tried 4 different times to watch the HTTYD show because it kept breaking down. And we got seated in the HP Circus show just to witness a fight and then the show broke down too. We did get free Express though, but kinda a waste of an hour TBH. They just need more things to do in the park. When we were there, there was like hardly any meet and greets (actually there wasn't any now that I think about it). Besides the rides, the only other thing to do was walk in the land, check the app for wait times, eat, and bake in the hot Florida sun. Eventually, Epic will get there. They just aren't there yet. Anyway, kind of went on a side rant there. Back to what I really was going to talk about. Stardust Racres has one of the smoothest loading processes I've ever seen. When riders get back from the ride, they sit in a break run in two different block zones. Then they make it back to the station platform and get off quickly. But the train sits there empty and the operators make sure that ever restraint is lifted up and ready for the guest. Then, the empty train moves up one more block zone and the guests enter the empty train. Super efficient and fast process. The ONLY thing I can think of that would make it more faster is if they installed some kind of moving walkway so that the trains are always moving. A always moving conveyor that moves the train constantly (think RMC raptor style) could increase capacity, but I can't imagine it would by that much. Here's a video I found that shows the loading process perfectly:
