The weather outside is frightful, but Kings Island is always delightful! With several inches of snow on the ground in the Cincinnati area and more to come, Kings Island has been covered with a peaceful white blanket. Click here to see photos of Kings Island covered in snow!

After over a year of construction, Diamondback is now a complete circuit! Set to open in April 2009, Diamondback will add an all new level of thrill to the Kings Island landscape. is the off season blues party going to be put off due to the weather?

No, it'll probably be fine.

The forecast for Mason on Saturday is showing as sunny with temps in the high 20s to low 30s. Trust me, I've been monitoring it for days.

That is all fine and good, but sunny and calm on Saturday does not change the fact that there will be 6 to 8 (or more) inches of snow on the ground surrounding the D-Back construction site. How will this affect the planned tour?

as long as everyone remembers to drive their snow machines it should be ok. ;)

HAHAHAHA!! Ok that was good, simply becasue it gave me the mental image of the 1st Annual KI Snowmobile races around the Midway

Why is the carousel not covered up to protect it from the elements?

I wondered that myself. I'd think the horses would be fragile.

I'm actually glad there will be snow during the tour. Makes it feel even more unusual and the coasters look so graceful with the blanket of white.

maybe we could get sarah palin to shoot off the starting rifle?

Right, and then PETA will come knocking on our doors asking why there are dead deer lying around the park grounds 'cause someone got a little trigger happy....

Well, the horses are made out of wood. And they are painted, so the paint provides some protection from the elements. Additionally, the Carousel building provides some protection to the actual carousel from the elements.
