Nice pics Shagster! Every time I see more and more of SD, the more I am blown away by what it is gonna look like. I really wasnt expecting much from this, but PKI is blowing my expectations away.

I heard a rumor that PKI was using the old Enchanted Theatre as part of SD. If this is true, how exactly will they do that?

Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle only utilizes the former Phantom Theatre area. It was not expanded into any part of the Enchanted Theatre.

The Enchanted Theatre will be used for character costume storage and dressing rooms. But that is it.

Definitely Good pics. With all the bright colors, I am guessing that they will use lots of black lights so that the stuff kinda gives off an eerie glow in the dark? Good pics Shaggy, definitely keep them coming!

The first time I saw all of the props for this ride at PKI's home page I thought that they looked bad compared to Phantom Theaters kick butt props. But now that I see it all coming together thanks to Shaggy's pic's this ride looks like it will be right up there with PT. One more thing, Shaggy can you tell us a little bit more about what the outside of the building will look like?

The main thing to keep in mind with the interior of Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle is that most everything is flat. Whereas the props in Phantom Theatre were all very realistic, Scooby takes on a much more cartoonish feel. It has a smaller and more intimate feel as well, rather than the open warehouse ambiance that PT had. Although I wish things were a bit more dimensional, some of the effects and surprises are fan-freaking-tastic. What was odd was being in a place so familiar in layout, yet so different looking.

The outside of the building will look just like the drawing on the PKI site. You will enter through large iron gates similar to the old PT entrance. However, this new gate is furthur to the left. You will cross an elaborate bridge to the building. The building facade is nearly twice as tall as the old PT front. The entrance is actually on the corner of the building as opposed to one side. The entrance path spirals down into the Grand Hall. Not much work has been done to the Grand hall, which is where the que will be. When you enter there are new walls that will filter out the light and make the interior darker and the effects more well.... effective. The upper "balcony" that surrounded the que and was home to Maestro #1 is being ripped out and the former "lightening windows" sealed up. This area will have fun stuff with a storyline that sets up the ride. The old organ that the Maestro figure played while in the que of PT was literally smashed into pieces on the floor. Don't feel too bad for it though, it was only a plywood box ;-)

Only if you wear a cape, that has 10 years worth of dust on it while waving your arms up and down and facing your head to your feet. Seemed to work for the Maestro.

Great pics Shag. I think it's kind of interesting that they're using a mix of character models (Like the organ shaggy) and flat models (Daphne). It looks like it's coming along quite nicely.

As far as the completion dates of the new attractions..... as far as I know as long as they are ready to run for the media day... all should be good.... That is probably their completion date ;-)

Watch for Delirium to rise over the next week. The PKI skyline will not be the same again!

You know when PKI is gonna bring up the webcam again? I enjoyed watching Reptar srping up on it. Also, any word about a Delium update on the site?

Don't know about the webcam. Not a priority, and I doubt any maintenance fellas want to climb to the top of the Tower in these temperatures to move it.

Not sure about Delirium updates on the PKI site. I son't work for the park. But I would suspect that we will see new pics as Delirium begins to rise over the next week or so.

If you right click on that picture and look at properties, Shaggy has it saved as "pki1975.jpg" so it is a snipit from the 1975 map. I think Shaggy mentioned before somewhere that Coney Mall was once called Coney Island and then changed.

Yea, Coney Mall was onced called Coney Island.

Heres kina of another trivia question,

1)Prior to where the Flying Scooters now is, where did it use to be located in the park.

2)Where was the old Dodgems ride previously located within the park before its current location.

Flying scooters was once where the dodgems is now. (I think)

Dodgems used to be in the building next to the scrambler which now houses the virtual reality, squirtgame and one of the games storage areas. (Again, I think)
